Jane - Thanks for letting us know.  Hope Arnie gets well soon.  It would have been nice to see you both again.  I can tell you it was a fun group, and Mary Jolly kept us all in stitches.   We also had a few surprise guests.  Look for some additional photos within the next few days.  We will try to have one more before the October bash - most likely early September.  I will keep everyone posted.

They are always so accommodating. We had a great crowd last time and are hoping for the same again. Anita, thanks for getting the mailing out to everyone. I am really saddened to hear about the loss of Mike Marks.  This right after learning of Rich Colwell's stroke, and now Louie's latest medical challenge.  It reminds me of how important it is that we enjoy each day to its fullest.  They say bad things come in threes.  So hopefully this is it for the rest of the year!  Everyone - STAY WELL, STAY HEALTHY, PLEASE!

Hi all,

I am hoping someone can answer this question for me - perhaps Marie Hoose can do some searching as well :-)
I believe I have found some information on Mike Marks but I need to be sure it is the same Mike Marks so there is not another Ed Hoblin incident. I found a Mike Marks whose birthday is/was Dec. 26, 1947 - I also have a social security number. This Mike Marks died August 2, 2007 while living in Las Vegas, NV. If anyone knows anything about Mike Marks and can verify at least the month of his birth, then this is/was probably your classmate. I will also sent this request to the list Louie uses for emails to be sure I have contacted as many people as possible. Thanks for your help.
Sue

Hi All,
We had a great pizza night.  One of our largest groups ever.  It was great to see everyone and wish them all well for the new year.  One bit of bad news...Rich Colwell suffered a stroke back in November.  He is ambulatory and was able to join us, but he has limited use of his right side.  He told me he has made some progress with his therapy, but the use of his right hand has been slow to respond.  His wife Fran has been "remarkable" to use Rich's words. He is still having trouble using the computer, but if anyone wants to give him a call or send him a card, here is the info:

    13 Demarest Avenue
     Nanuet 10954
     845-623-1028

Let's all say a prayer for no more mishaps this year!  Stay well.  Pam

Hi everyone!  I stopped in to visit with Mearlene over the weekend and can only tell you that I cried when I saw the progress she has made.  If any of you can make the time, I urge you to have a visit with her.  She really enjoys the company.  She is at Northern Riverview in Haverstraw.

On another note, we are having a pizza night on Saturday, January 19th at the Nanuet Restaurant - 7 pm.  If  any of you are visiting from out of town, we would love for you to join us.  I'm hoping to see lots of your there.

I just want to say kudos to Kathy for arranging such a fabulous weekend. I really felt like I was a high school kid again just having fun and not worrying about a thing. Between the in-house spa, the boardwalk shopping, eating and drinking, strolling on the beach with our feet in the ocean, antiquing, golfing and fishing, everyone had a wonderful time. I didn't even mind all the ribbing I received for being the only one to NOT catch a fish. So many people asked if we could do this again next year - some even suggested it become an annual event. I guess this is something we will need to consider. Kathy, you up for the challenge? Thanks so much to everyone who came to the bash and to everyone who showed up at pizza night. You all made me feel like a kid again! Pam

There is less excitement, Sue, but not less desire. Remember, it was many years since we had seen each other prior to the reunion. For some, such as myself, it was 4 decades. It has now been only 2 years max., but for most of us it is far less since we have gotten together for pizza nights, birthday parties, etc. The novelty is gone, the uniqueness is gone, but the warmth of new and/or rekinkled friendships remain. I know this to be true, as my desire to see these friends is very strong, but the excitement to see some whom I have not seen since 2005 is totally different. Seeing the many friends I have seen in the last several months is wonderful indeed, yet there is an added emotion to see people I think are special but have not seen since the reunion itself such as Sharon Peters Tom Kroll, Bob Neus, etc. For the most part, many of the people going have seen each several times in the last two years so the uniqueness is gone. But never confuse that lack of website activity or emails with a lack of excitement. When we are together at the shore the energy you will see could light up the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center! Something special seems to occur when the class of '65 now reunites. It can not be explained, just enjoyed. I am sure even those who are not members of the class, such as yourself, must be amazed at how unique this "band of brothers" has become. I look forward to seeing you and Jerry next week. I hope both of you save me a dance. :-) Of course I will not dance a slow one with Jerry. He always wants to lead!

Nate - How great to hear from you. Your name has come up several times in our numerous get-togethers. I absolutely remember you. I lived in the old white house on the west border of Metlitz Lake. I grew up playing ice hokey with the boys on that lake. I remember after one huge snowfall your father taking to the ice with his tractor to clear the snow so we could all skate. I know I speak for many of our classmates when I say we would love to see you in Pt. Pleasant in October. Hope you can make it. Pam

Pamela....First, 60 being 40 does not apply to you...You have thought you were 40, acted like it, and looked like it for the past 2 decades. In fact, I know that you have a certain painting in your attic. As for people wishing you a happy birthday, it is clearly not that we really do, it is simply that we want to make sure you know that you are 60 also!!!! Put it in perspective, lady. The country is 231 years old and you have been around for 60 of those years...........oh, ok, I admit it. We all love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or we will as long as you keep the pizza parties going..

Liz, first let's discuss the blow up doll. They are not that great. Last one I had I jumped on her and she farted and flew out the window.....Besides "Real Sex", I think there is a show "Reel Sex". It is a porno site for fishermen. That is why it is called "fly fishing". Each one of them is a master baiter. A good fisherman also knows that it is not the size of the rod that matters. Throwing out a good line helps make the catch, however...... I think this trip may have changed you, Liz. My guess is that within a month you will start your own brothel. Fittingly it will be called Liz Lay-tons...

I was at a conference in L.A. last week and spent an evening with Louie and Bob and Bonnie. Fun! Went to an historic L.A. sandwich joint, then hit the road for a driving tour; then we ended up having drinks at a Japanese restaurant overlooking the city. It was wonderful to catch up with them. Los Angeles really is different from the east coast. Here's what I learned that evening: the beaches there have water too cold to swim in; Louie, Bob, and Bonnie all moved to the L.A. area in the early '70's (so they are almost natives and really know their way around); and the show "Real Sex" (that I saw in my hotel room late one night) is not a California show at all, it's a national show! Who knew? I had never heard of it before. Three young, naked, enhanced women were cavorting with a life-size male doll. They told the interviewer that they liked the doll because he didn't talk back and he never got tired. Of course they didn't say anything about what he smelled like (a garden hose? a plastic bag? an old tire?)And I'm sure he can't cook. No competition for the NHS hunks--and I'm talking to ALL of you! (Louie, give me credit for jumpstarting the message board.) xo, Liz

I would just like to echo all the other comments from my fellow classmates. What a great time we had in California. It was so great to see so many of you again, especially those who were not able to make the reunion or those that I did not have time to talk to at the reunion. And Louie thank you for your tremendous generosity. I really needed the fun time after completing my busy tax season and in fact knowing that I was flying to California on April 19th really helped me to get through tax season. Also the email bantering back and forth with Louie helped relieve the tax season pressure. Thanks Louie. I won't say that I was able to relax in California since we were really kept busy with activities. But it was great. After I left California I had a very nice car trip to Santa Fe to visit relatives, with stops in Vegas and Grand Canyon (my first visit there). Now trying to catch up on my sleep. :-) Till next time!!

No problem Anita. I should have alerted the other two tables that you do not have to accept all the food they want to place on your table. My dog is not complaining as he spent the next two days eating about $100 of left over Chinese Dim Sum. He now calls me Rouie and I call him Dr. Zung. He thinks he is a Chinese Sharpei instead of an English Mastiff. Samson's only problem is trying to pick up the kibble with the chopsticks. Even when he does get to eat the kiibble, he is now hungry an hour later.

Actually , I was more interesetd in Chris Schiller, the guy from Nanuet who would be a great MATCH for my daughter....I am hoping that they will meet, fall in love, get married and when asked how they met, my daughter's response could be, "MY MOM PICKED HIM UP IN A BAR IN LA WHILE SHE WAS THERE CELEBRATING HER DEAR FRIEND , LOUIE'S, 60th BIRTHDAY....what do you think? Tom and I had a great time with all of you...and our deepest thanks to Louie for being the host with the most....not saying the most of what...but the MOST!! Hope you won't have to second mortgage your house to pay for the DIM SUM BRUNCH....our table ordered took everything that came by....oh well....we had no idea that you paid by the dish..and not by the person....NEXT PARTY is in OCTOBER ...and if you haven't sent me your deposit yet...please do...and DON"T FORGET TO RESERVE your room and the hotel...OR THEY are going to give them away!!! Laura...it was so great to see you and watch you experinece the magic of seeing 60 year old people that you knew way back when....it is a special group...and it justs keep getting better...hope to see you at the shore! BTW...the INFAMOUS mickey mouse ears arrived at the hotel MONDAY MORNING....too bad...I think we looked so cute in our homemade version! WHOEVER has the group Mousketeer photo, pleae post it and then send me a copy.... Love to all. Anita

Sorry to damage any egos, but Senor Carlos had eyes for one Nanuet lady and it was not one you have mentioned....Though Denise did corner him as soon as he returned from the mens room....I would not shake his hand as he returned from the bathroom just in case he did not (oh never mind)...By the way, thank you, ladies, for honoring Kyle's request (and Carlos's) not to take pictures....I know it was tempting.

My California friends were shocked that four tables of east coast friends (and Michigan, Paris, etc.) would make the trip to the other coast. They could not believe how we have all conncected or reconnected after 40 years. It was surreal. All high schools have reunions, but you have turned into way more than that. They are still talking about you with amazement. It was a great party, but it was great because you were there to make it so.

Sue - I was there and I can honestly say that the only one to manhandle poor Carlos (actually his name is Ricardo Chavira) was Anita. I caught her rubbing her hands up and down his shirt. Pam

Okay, since the cat's out of the bag about Carlos, those of you who were not there to witness this "woman handling" behavior should be curious enough to post some questions about who made contact, what kind of contact. If that doesn't get your curiosity up then perhaps Ed Villa's playfullness should! OKAY - I have done my part, now it is up to you all to START POSTING!!!!

I know I don't have to tell those of you present at Louie's party how much FUN I had! Those of you that were not there, you will have to post here for feedback from the party goers. I think the little you all know about me, you know that I am VERY conservative and NEVER want to call attention to myself, however... (Oh, and I did not have anything except one glass of wine, to drink). Jerry has already sent a thank you to Louie for a wonderful time but I want to say thank you for a wonderful stroll down memory lane when I was just a twinkle in my parent's eyes. I am still in awe over the closeness of the class of '65 and truly feel lucky to be an extended part of your group. You put together a spectacular weekend from Friday night at Kyle's bar (where some of the women - and you know who you are - "woman handled" - well flirted HEAVILY) with some star from the TV show Deperate Housewives - again post to ask who it was, I do not get much TV time), to the party Saturday night with a great band, pinball machines, dancers, fun, fun, fun, (right Dave!), to Sunday's Dim Sum and Sunday night's farewells. Thank you, Louie! Sue

My Dear Louie, Your simple 2-line invitation to the party triggered something spontaneous in me and without those personal words, I don't think I would have made the trip . . . . . I'm so glad I did! I realize now that this is not only a special group of far-away friends . . . but people who will mean something to me for a long time to come. Thank you for creating the vehicle for me to experience such a wonderful "friend-fest". And Louie, thanks for finally signing my yearbook . . . 42 years later! Louie, You sure know how to host a party!! I really needed those extra days of R&R in Santa Monica to recuperate after your three-day marathon. I can't thank you enough for all your generosity and for all you did to make our weekend so enjoyable. It was so great to party with you and to see everyone again. It was a special treat to see those that were unable to attend our reunion like Laura Child, Patty Eaton and Ilse Mattes. I agree, we are all a bit nuts. I can't wait to start seeing the photos. A second way to get there is simply to go to www.nanuet65.myevent.com and then click on "60th Birthday" (Technically we have two websites acting as one. Thanks for this "reunion humor", Dr. Yats..... My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asks, "Do you know her?" "Yes," I sighed, "She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago and I hear she hasn't been sober since." "My Goodness!" says my wife, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long!"

Hello everyone! It appears this site has gone dormant for the winter. I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have an exciting New Year ahead of you. Of course Louie's birthday party and the NHS birthday bash are two exciting events coming up. I want to make another plea to all of you who attended the 10th and 20th HS reunions for any pictures you may have taken. I wanted to have an album finished to give Jerry for Christmas starting with your graduation and ending with the last get-together (in Nov.) for the 2006 year. Then all Jerry would have to do is continue to add to it. The only pictures I have for the 10 and 20 year reunions are the group pictures. So, if anyone has any pictures - they do not need to have Jerry in them - please either e-mail them to me or mail them to me (I promise to return them immeditely). Our mailing address is 4128 Swindon Court, Charlotte, NC 28215, you have our e-mail on this site. Thank you for taking the time to rummage through your boxes of loose pictures :-) Sue

Well, as a graduate of the class of 73 I'm certainly glad to come across this page. It's great looking at the old pictures and seeing and reading about the students who were there before me. I have great memories about NHS and still live in Nanuet. Both my boys have just graduated and the tradition continues as my nieces will soon attend. As a member and one time head of the AV department I would appreciate any history you could share regarding that area. The earliest person I know and worked with in AV was Steve Trojan. It also looks like the class of 65 outshines all the other newer classes as far as being WEB savvy.

I am putting together an album with all four of the NHS reunions for Jerry. I have a lot of photos from the 40th reunion but none from the 10th and 20th and very few from the 30th. So...whoever has photos from those reunions, can you please send them to me? I also want to include some information on the graduation and the senior prom. Any photos from that time and information such as names of "the court", name of the theme, decorations, the prom song (I am guessing that there was a particular song that went with the theme), dance, favorite sayings, anything at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

FABU WEEKEND at The Allen's!!! How wonderful to share in Jerry's special celebration and see so many friends again. Such a beautiful home in a lovely setting...absolutely delicious fare...coupled with my first pig experience! Great music and surprise guest recording artists...and above all...the continuing enthusiasm and fun of The Class of 65!...how fortunate and rich are we. So looking forward to our Jersey Shore Reunion! As for the rumor of my first novelette...and/or major motion picture...it will certainly detail the fine driving expertise and thoughtfulness of "Long Tall Sally" Eddie V. Jerry and Sue...a heartfelt "thanks for the memories"...and your most gracious hospitality.

I am sending a link to shutterfly for those of you that would like to view some of the photos from Jerry's party. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EbNWzls1aPCg (Louie is working hard to get this site to accept all the pictures everyone has to share and I am not sure how long it will take for him to catch up). You have no idea what a heart-warming experience this party was for me. So many friends and family not only traveled great distances but also telephoned from Texas, Paris, and Las Vegas to shower Jerry with well wishes and share in celebrating Jerry's "coming of age". (Which, incidentally, will probably never happen). With Jerry's cousin Kathy and Aunt Elsie topping the list of real troopers (you have to know the story of their trip to NC with Ed Villa to fully appreciate it), the class of '65 once again radiated with love, friendship, and party exuberance! From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank, thank you, thank you for helping to make Jerry's celebration more than special!

I can't tell y'all how happy, flattered and humbled I felt that so many classmates took the time and effort, not to mention the expense, to attend the best birthday party I ever had. Talk about sacrifice; my cousin Kathy Maghakian and her Mom, Aunt Elsie, drove down with Ed Villa from NJ. Word is, Kathy is going to write a book about the experience. Now here is where the humbling part comes in;Donna Delacroce called to wish me a happy birthday, from France!! Rich DeGrazia called from Las Vegas. Sue Crilly called from Texas. Louie and Monika flew in from California!! Andrea from Michigan, Ricky from Florida, Liz from Rohde Island, Dave from Tenn., Anita from SC and the regulars from NY and NJ: Ed Hoblin, Ed Villa, Harry, Pam. I know it appears that my wife, Sue worked very hard on this event, but so did I. I had to play golf on Fri. with Ed Hoblin and Lenny and on Sat. I had to put ice on the kegs. I did my part. Why was Louie so curious about the sex of the pig? Dave, the rebel, can sing; Anita, keep your day job. Ricky and I never got to race our Vettes; [ I'd a kick his butt]. Ed Villa chose my party to express how he has felt about me; check out the pictures. We all still dance the same way, but we all still look damn good. I, however, don't look good in a black wig and red dress; check out the pictures. Sorry about the weather, didn't put my order in soon enough. I could go on and on. Thank you all, it meant so much to me and Sue.

The Allens sure know how to throw a party and make their guests feel welcome. Thank you Sue and Jerry for inviting us all to your beautiful home to share in the celebration. It's obvious how hard you both worked - well Sue in any case - to make the day special. I am sure that all who were there will agree you more than succeeded. Thanks. P.S. Let's get all the photos to Louie and bug him big time until they get posted.

A great time was had by all at Jerry's 60th birthday party Saturday evening, and 14 classmates were there. Dancing, laughing, talking, general happy silliness, great food, beautiful setting. Sue did a fantastic organizing job. I'm still smiling.

I would sure like to know who was not there who would have closed the place...Perhaps Sue can fill me in on this one. I really am looking forward to this pig party in North Carolina. I have not been to a pig party since college. Is it the same kind of party? If it is, then I better look around for a date who can win the trophy. Maybe I can bring one from California if I can get her to fly steerage. I was told that it takes 18 hours to get the pig hot in North Carolina......I would think it would take 1 hour to get 18 pigs hot..... You know, I think I misinterpreted the meaning of a pig pickin'..I think I will google it before I go... Hey Kroll.........Are you sure you can't go? I might need some help at this one.

Sorry, but I cannot fill in any of the blanks. I'm lucky I can remember who was there. Maybe it's old age, but I'd like to think it's that I drink too much! And yes, it was absolutely great seeing Mary. She hasn't changed a bit. You only need to talk with her for a minute to know that! Looking forward to the Pig Pik'n 60th for Jerry. See y'all there.

Wow! It has been a long time since I signed on to this site - where is everyone???? A number of classmates - Pam, Donna, Jerry, Joel, Lenny, Doris, Denise, Harry, and spouses gathered to wish Mearlene a Happy 60th on Sept. 9th. Mearlene seems to be progressing well, but slowly - we all wish her well. Later that night several more classmates, including almost everyone just mentioned, gathered at the Nanuet Restaurant - Ed & Nancy, Ed Hoblin, Rich Muller, John Jolly, Mary Buesing Jolly (yes she did!), Donna's very pretty daughter, Sonia, Doug, Gerry D. ( think), and spouses. We all sat around asking why you (and you know who you are) were not there closing down the place! That is, until Harry crowned himself King and started bossing everyone around! (Just kidding). He asks anyone that lives anywhere near Rockland County to take some time to stop in and see Mearlene while he is in Florida. When he is in NY, he visits Mearlene frequently. Who knew Hrry was such a nice guy :-) Oh, and he asked everyone to think of something for the 60th birthday but I forgot what it was already - he had too many requests for me to remember. Pam, anyone...maybe you all can fill in the blanks. It was fun meeting Mary, she is hilarious! Okay, I'm finished. Thanks for indulging me - now it's your turn!

Only 5 more days before starting graduate school and once again feeling as I did when I started at Dominican College three years ago. Looking forward to the Sept 9th Pizza Night as if I could forget since Fran has it in bold letters on our activity board.

The picture of Mrs. Ball has been added to the remembrance section....... In another year, we are going to have our "60th birthday bash"! All of you make sure you take care of yourself so that you will be there.......... One more thing--I did not know Harry B. in high school. I have gotten to know him through our mini-reunions we have been having. Harry visits Mearlene twice a week. He does not talk about the fact that he does this, which makes it even more special. It took me 40 years to learn how lucky we are that he is our classmate...... You have a year in advance to reserve the weekend after Labor Day for the reunion. No excuses accepted. See you in 2007!

The obituary stated that Ms Ball retired from teaching at Nanuet in 1978, and had been residing in Pearl River. We need to add Ms Ball to our Remembrance Listing.

I didn't graduate with the class of 65, I graduated in 67 but I am one of the Eglewood Ave. gang and I had e-mailed Rob Veltidi a couple years ago but we have since moved so I was trying to find his e-mail address again and I got into the message board and it was great-so many people I haven't heard from in years. Robbie's brother, Allan has a good memory but he did forget the oldest members of the Englewood Ave gang, like my sister Hazel, Sue Serino's oldest brother Ronnie and the oldest Ingrassia, Paul. Kathy R., Diane Crua and myself hung out at the bus stop together. Please give Robbie my e-mail address. Thanks Linda Johnson

Wow! These get-togethers keep getting better! The Castle was really fun. Although it didn't rain while we were there, some folks stayed away because of scattered heavy storms in their area. The storms did not stop Jerry Allen though from driving all the way up from Charlotte just to attend. Jerry, I know Gaylord wasn't there, but I do think the rest of us managed to show you a good time. Jim Barrett was finally able to join us. He could not be at the reunion and has been trying to make one of our gatherings for quite some time. I gave him a copy of our Reunion Directory so he could read up on everyone and stay in touch. The always unpredictable Harry B came by with a big surprise - Char! It was a complete surprise to her as well. She thought she was only out for a late lunch with Harry. Surprise, surprise!!!! continued....

Robby Veltidi also dropped by from the other side of the lake, which I personally thought was a treat. I had not seen him since the reunion and got to give him a big bear hug. Unfortunately because of the weather, he was unable to come by way of his pontoon boat as planned to give us all a ride and tour of the lake. Shortly after he arrived the weather turned quite nice and sunny, but there was no persuading him to go back for the boat - I think he was already having too much fun. Ed Hoblin drove down from upstate - I'm sure it was because his old friend Jerry was going to be there, but the rest of were very glad he made the trip as well. Some of the regulars were there too - Ed and Nancy, Denise, Doug, Jack Jolly and their spouses. You should take the time to look at some of the photos. From the Reunion Website click on "Reunion Pics" and then on "Get Togethers" - or at any time you can go the quick way by logging directly on to http://nanuet65.myevent.com/index.php (note to novices: cut and paste this link). Hey, summer is still here - so keep having fun everyone!

Dave.... Nix on Xmas. My plan was to accompany the family to my inlaws in Dalton. Then I could visit you and Yats..maybe even see Steve and Luanne. When the family went home I would go to NY....However, mother-in-law turns 80 on Dec. 10th, so Carol is flying ALONE then to be with her mother at that time and not at XMAS. Perhaps when we plan the Jersey shore reunion, once I know my soccer schedule for the fall, you and other classmates might want to meet us all for an awesome weekend! I will let you know the dates by late August...I am hoping for the weekend after Labor day, but not yet positive.

Hiya: Yesterday was Pam's b-day...I think it was her 48th! At least it looks like it is....Anita, you were the reason the reunion was a reality, but Pamela you are the reason the spirit of the reunion is still alive!...Keep those mini-reunions coming...Hopefully we will have one that will attract people from out of the area. I just came back from soccer coaching in England and Sweden. Great time. I drank Kilkenny beer and saw monkeys mating..Whatelse do you need in a vacation? (No comments Mark B, about spanking one.) Amazing trip. The women in England, for the most part, are the victims of inbreeding between kings, queens, and English mastiffs. They are not high on the "looker" chart. In Sweden, the teenage girls are breathtakingly beautiful. However, you can not find many pretty Swedish women above the age of 40! I think when the women get to be 40, they are shipped to England. Must be a takeoff of the Twilight Zone episode of "Beauty Is In The Eyes Of The Beholder" I hope the reunion this past weekend was a great success. I had hoped to change my tickets to fly home through New York so I could attend. However the team kept winning so I could not leave them early as I had hoped. I will try to attend the next one as I have brought home a case of Kilkenny and two monkeys. Be well....

Hi All, Last weekend my daughter and I met up with Gaylord and his lovely Marybeth (she actually calls herself MB). As it turns out, Gay and I have mutual friends - he was just as shocked as I was. So all six of us met up at The Castle for a few brews. I arrived by car, our mutual friends by boat, and Gay & MB by hog. It was absolutely great seeing him. They are headed up to Maine this week but will be back on the 19th. So we've made definite plans for an afternoon outing on Saturday 7/22 (rain date Sunday 7/23). The address of the Castle is 13 Castle Court, Sterling Forest, NY. You can Mapquest for directions, or you can give them a call (845-477-3300). It's a great place to meet for an afternoon of fun, and I'm hoping for a good turnout - don't disappoint me. Email me if you are going to try to make it. Gaylord is looking forward to seeing everyone after so many years. We'll be meeting around three o'clock. You can just come for a drink and some afternoon snacks, or you can stay for dinner as well if you'd like. The bar is set right by the water, the food is good, and there is usually entertainment on the weekends. Bring your bathing suits if it's hot, because there is even a small beach there if you're inclined to take a dip. If you are wondering about attire, keep in mind their sign reads... "Hogs Welcome." Hey, it's summer! How about some of you out-of-towners taking a little road trip!

LOUIE..you are too much! Thanks again for thanking me..and THANK YOU for all you did to make the reunion a reality..THE WEBSITE was a huge reason that so many people came..the enthusiasm and excitement that it generated was incredible. I have just written a story for the Greenville Journal, a local paper that I work for. I wrote about the reunion and what it meant to me and my editor was so moved by it that she put it on the front page. I have received many letters from people who read it telling me that they had similar life changing experiences at their 40th reunions. I got a letter from Joe White from Albertus Magnus, Class of 65 . He lives in Greenville now and has fond memories of the Naunet girls!!! We are going to meet for coffee one day and share our memories of growing up in Rockland in the 60's. Small world...but wonderful..my best to all of you!

I have been monitoring, but not posting. However, now I want to thank two special ladies who have made a difference in my life. First is Anita. Without Anita, there would not have been a reunion. I thought the reunion was one of the most wonderful weekends of my life, especially the Friday night lovefest. I am in contact with quite a few classmates on a regular basis, many of whom I was not that friendly with in high school. They have become close friends and without Anita this would not have occurred. Second is Pamela. Many reunions become a faded memory. But Pam has kept it alive with the min-reunions that periodically occur. I have flown in for a couple of them. Not only did I get t spend time with classmates and rekindle the feelings of the reunion, but I have spent time with two extraordinary people in Ron Hall and Pat Petch neither of whom were able to attend the reunion. Those who can not attend these, surely share in the posts and the pictures. That keeps it going for everyone. Next year, when we hit the 60 mark, we will have a large birthday bash. Everyone will have ample time to make plans to attend, if you wish. I know we will have a great response. Anyway, thanks to the two special ladies and to all the rest of you who have shown me that I was fortunate enough to have been in a very special class, with classmates who have grown into awesome adults..........See you all next year, I hope!

I go away for a week and this board really picks up! My guess from the twang, that last post was probably from Jerry Allen. I just got back from a week in Rincon celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday. (If you've never heard of Rincon, check out the words to Surfin' USA.) I am so glad summer is finally here. Next to Christmas party time, it's my favorite time of the year. Lenny is nudging me to plan another pizza night so check back for details. Gaylord, if you are reading this, let me know exactly where and when works for you and I will make it happen. You are not getting out of it this time! Hi Guys...How is everybody doing? Looked like a great time at Lenny's! While you guys were chomping down all that great looking food and drink, M.B. and I were up North getting soaked and trying to do a little flyfishing for trout. Unfortunately, though, the only insect hatches we got were horrendous swarms of mosquitos (Russ can you do something about those monsters?) They're worse than the black flys!!! Rob, sorry to hear things are going so badly for you! We'd honk when we pass your house on the bike, but the horn is busted! Hopefully we'll run into each other one day this Summer. Hi everyone! good to see the pics from your last feast at Lenny's. wish I could have been there, but will have to settle for the local entertainment here. Last night was the annual "Fête de la Musique" in Paris and all of France. a tradition initiated 25 years ago by the Minister of Culture. Lots of free concerts, jam sessions on the streets, in the restaurants, everywhere all night long. went to a fantastic concert of "world music" , a bit of everythign from Brazil, Tibet, Africa, and Algeria. FUN, but I am a zombie today at work, 6 hours sleep not enough at this age... No major plans for the summer this year, but nice long weekends in the country at our home in Normandy. If anyone is visiting Europe besides Ed, remember to look me up! Glad to hear Mearlene is getting better. Ciao for now!

Just finished looking at all of the wonderful pictures from the mini-reunions. What a great class we were and still are! Not a lot new with me since last summer--still doing a little teaching, a lot of veggie gardening, and spending lots of time doing board work for the Providence Singers. The Singers was awarded a huge grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to put on a regional choral festival of American music next March in Providence. And I'll be board chair as of July 1, so it's going to happen on my watch. Help!!! Summer is upon us as of today. Am remembering that week at the Jersey shore, summer of '64, with Anita, Denise, and Patty Eaton. Patty's mother, a real movie-star beauty--tall, with auburn hair styled out of the late '40s, had a Mustang convertible. Between riding around in that car, doing the boardwalk, sitting in the sand (no sunscreen in those days--aarrgghh!!), we were in teenage heaven. Oh, those summer nights...............

Hi all Right after Reunion, I lost my job with BirdsEye Foods. I worked for a local consultant until the spring and moved to Germany at the beginning of March. I'm living in a small town about ten minutes from the Rhine River, near Speyer. I'm still doing Indiustrial Hygiene, now for the US Army in Mannheim. My wife joins me in three weeks. She stayed home to finish teaching and finally retire. She is looking forward to coming over and dragging me all around Europe, especially the eastern countries, which were closed the last time that we were here.

Hi All, I retired from Shepherd University this past month and have started working with my son in his construction business. The office management part is really different than anything I have done before, but the safety training part is like being a teacher again. We haven't sold our house in WV yet (slow market) and my husband and I are traveling back and forth on weekends while I stay with my son and his family during the week. All goes well. We are excited to be expecting grandchildren number 6 & 7, one in Dec. and the other in Feb. Great to hear that Mearlene is doing well and Congrats to Rich!

Hi everyone! while ago I was complaining that things were too quiet on the site , but have been guilty myself of not checking in since then! nice to see all the posts and get everyone's news. What's this about finding Dave Roberts ? has he disappeared?? Summer has finally, at last, made it's entrance this week here in Paris, the sun is shining and it brings out all the tables on the sidewalk cafés, and all the people watchers that sit there for hours catching the sights. (don't worry, some of us are still actually working in between!) well hope everyone is well and enjoying life on the other side of the Atlantic. ciao for now Donna

THE BOOKS ARE OPEN FOR ALL TO SEE! Gosh, I could have just taken my husband out for a really nice dinner..and no one would have known! I did send some money to Louis to reimburse him for some of the money he spent and is still spending on the website!! I am keeping a little "get started fund" for the next reunion! Thanks, Mark, for your offer...no audit needed.....hope all are well! Anita

Mark, It's good to hear from you. And you got me thinking. Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to audit those books. It has bothered me for quite some time that I have been unable to figure out how Anita paid for all of the beautiful linen chair covers and fabulous decorations that were used at the Elks Club, and for the unbelievable class directory and all of the hats and the mugs out of the little bit of money she collected. I am convinced there has to be some smoke and mirrors involved. Go Yankees!!!

Anita, I noticed that in one of your posts, you indicated that you were going to send flowers to Mearlene with money left over from reunion. I think that was a very nice gesture--thanks. But I am a bit concerned about money being left over from the reunion. Maybe I should perform an "audit" of the Class of 65 Books? :-)

Hi All! I have been negligent in not visiting the web site for awhile. Will try to keep in better contact now. Went through my busy tax season, and then always takes awhile to get back to "normal". Almost there now. Caught up on reading all messages posted here lately and glad to hear that Mearlene is making progress. Also, Rich C, congrats to you on graduation and wish you best of success at my alma mater, Fordham U. We have been keeping busy lately with both of our daughters. Amy and husband recently bought a condo and so we are helping them get settled as best we can. Jill and husband are in process of selling their condo and buying a house. Both girls are here in CT about 45 minutes away from us, so close enough to seem them often enough but not so close that they are here every day. By the way, Jill is named after her Grandpa Jack and Amy followed in his footsteps and became a teacher. Sorry I was not able to make any of the mini reunions earlier this year, but hopefully can make the next one. This Friday night will be at Yankee Stadium seeing Yankees beat (sorry-play--don't want to be presumptuous) the Oakland A's. Tix are Christmas present from Jill and Bryan. I mentioned tax season above. If any of you have any tax questions, just let me know. I will do my best to answer them for you. Glad to help my friends and classmates if I can, and will help me to keep sharp in the "off season". Well take care for now. Hope to see some of you soon.

I finally get to know the feeling of going through graduation again, and it feels as good as it did back in 1965 and 1971. After 3 years of study I will be getting my BSW degree on May 21 at the ripe old age of 60. Next step is the advanced standing placement in graduate school at Fordham in September (completing in 1 year rather than 2). Lets keep those pizza night gettogethers going.

Good riddence to this lousy, no-ice-fishing, "non-winter!...But, M.B.'s happy that we at least got a lot of work done around the Ringwood cabin that wouldn't have been done if we were out on the ice, including a great head start on next year's firewood. Looking forward to local trout fishing soon, then up to the Maine cabin in early June for some real fishing (hi Russ) and more wood cutting up there! By the way, does anyone have Ron Hall's e-mail? Doug, I totally agree, we were definitely the loudest table. But I do think a lot of the people in the restaurant enjoyed watching us and our antics. It was great having our two out-of-towners Anita and Bob Nues with us. And, yes, we will definitely do it again soon - In fact, as soon as someone comes up with a good excuse we can do it again. Anyone coming in from out of town soon?!?!

An e-mail from Rob today tipped me off that something was happening, so I checked out the site. I can't believe I have a two-day conference in Boston on Friday and Saturday--phooey. But I will be home Friday evening and will call your cell, Anita, to say hi to all youze guys. My daughter Ruth was born on St. Patrick's Day 29 years ago. In the hospital, a nurse gave me a pin that read, "Roses are red, Violets are blueish, A leprechaun told me St. Patrick was Jewish." And tomorrow begins the holiday of Purim, so I'll be up early to make hamentaschen, which have to be the world's sexiest cookie. Yum!

I remember that we read "The Scarlett Letter" in Mrs. Warner's class. If Dr. Bob uses what he learned re the pen to become expert in the use of the scope, does he then put a scarlett "A" on the area of the body he works on? In the book the "A" stood for adulter, but in Dr. Bob's work the "A" would stand for the location! I gues Mrs. Warner really did much for Dr. B.....

*Just went to the message board 2 geography section and it is either invisible or deleted??? (I am curious about how many grads live in each state). *Kathy M. - Jerry emailed you about 2 months ago and I guess the message is in cyber space - so he emailed someone named Sharon (I think) just wanting to know how Mearlene is doing. If you have an update or just want to send Jerry an email I know he would appreciate that. *Jerry has been in Las Vegas all week at a Meineke Car Care convention. Since Rich DeGrazia lives out that way they have been able to get together a couple of times - All day today in fact. They are 18 years old all over again! I will coax him to share with you guys. *Eck - Maybe you can bring some green food coloring to the Nanuet restaurant and make your own green beer. I am sure you guys will have a blast. Sue

I have been away from NY for a long time but even I know a get together on St. Particks Day 3/17 should be at Paddy O'Reilly's or Finn McCool's, not at a pizza joint. Green Beer and Corned Beef and Cabbage, forget marinara, that's a sin against all the Irish and honorary Irish. Enjoy anyway and kiss my honorary Irish ------- cheek

Hi: Interesting that I just bid on the 1964 and 1965 yearbooks belonging to Mrs. Warner on Ebay....Hope I will be able to win them and read all your comments! ANita, I will try to be there as well. There is a chance that my son and I have to be in Boston in early March. Depending on the dates, it might be a possibility fo rmet to be in NY when you are. I shall try. I hope the site does not die. But at most it will just go to sleep until the Birthday Bash. Then it will reawaken. FYI....Spring Valley class of '64 is probably also doing a 60th birthday bash. It looks like they will be going to Las Vegas on Sept. 15th. Should be fun. Anita, if I go I to their bash I will be sure to revisit the Scintas. They were awesome and thanks for the tip! Maybe we should have a group that meets annually at the Jersey Shore. Why wait?

Pam: So sorry for not writing sooner but believe me Fran and I have been thinking of all of you. Seems like she has been spoiled with our mini get togethers in that she is looking forward to our next one. Afraid I have been busy with my application for grad school as well as being swamped with school work and internship. Mid-terms are coming up next week, and still have to look forward to writing a literary review paper adressing my research paper (which also has to be done), and then there is my having to write a paper which relates to an operational change at my internship site. All this mess has to be completed in the next nine weeks. Just to much to do in so little time. All this inbetween the general class readings and exams. Hopefully as things become completed I will find some free time to check in and drop a line.

You have a great wife who obviously married you for one of two reasons...1. would be pity and 2. would be that you resemble John Holmes.......I read your post and have decided that you should have been institutionalized in high school......I will not make any negative comments other than stating the obvious fact that Dr. Yats could easily do a colonoscopy and a lobotomy on you at the same time........(glad you were at the get-together...would not have been the same without you!)...As for the green tights, I am no longer Peter Pan. Just when I think the message board might need a shot of adrenaline, who comes through but our own webmeister general. Monsieur Pan was probably too humble to mention it at the recent get together, but he was recently in the running for Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dressed List. He made it to the final round, but there was a dead heat for the final spot. There was supposed to be a final pose-off, but things got ugly and after a swift kick and a body slam, our Lou was history. On the bright side, he lost out to another former Golden Knight, the mysterious, but always impeccably dressed Dr Zung. Keep your chin up, LP., there's always next year. Maybe you could lose the green tights and try something more in character. How about Tinkerbell? Who loves ya baby?

Yes, it was a great mini-reunion with about 25+ classmates at the Nanuet Restaurant. Thank you Pamela, for all you did. It was especially wonderful to see Pat Petch and Ron Hall both of whom were unable to attend the reunion. Pat is very pretty and looks younger than most of us. Ron looks the same as he did in high school and is a great guy with a fun sense of humor. Add to them the other wonderful classmates there and it was a great evening. Next week I will be in Philadelphia attending the National Soccer Coaches Association convention. I will be spending a couple of days in New York after the convention. As Pamela indicated, she is using my visit as an excuse to have a gathering of Nanuet classmates at the Nanuet Restaurant on the 21st. There will be a fair amount of us there, but the more the merrier. I hope that not only those living in the area will be there, but if some live not too far away and want to use it as an excuse to come for a couple of days, that would be awesome. It will be fun not having to wait until our Birthday Bash of 2007 to reconnect. So let's have a mini-reunion.............See you then!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE CLASS OF '65!!!! I noticed that the last email about Merlean said she was still not recouperating as quickly as was hoped and a request to keep those cards and letters coming was made. Last time, Pam got everyone to send a group card and apparently it went over very well. Maybe this time, you all can send pictures you have taken from the reunion where Merlean is photographed with other class members and make some kind of collage/scrapbook thing. I was just thinking that since that whole weekend was chocked full of love and happiness, perhaps it would give a lift to Merlean. Again, just a thought. Have a safe and FUN New Year's Eve celebration, and a healthy, happy New Year. Sue

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!#$%^&*() I guess my Christmas note got sent into ciberspace. That happens. My last kayak trip was Dec 2 50 deg and flood water GREAT! My new hobie Firewood. It warms you many times over. First I cut a tree. Then I fire up FRANKENSTEIN my 6 ton chunk of steel with a 353 detroit,a deafening enviornmental disaster. Then drag the tree to the yard, cut it up, pick it up, split it up( by hand), pick up 4 pieces, stack it,pick it up again, put it in the wheelbarrow(one of my favorite tools),stack it in the shed, pick it up again, stack it in the house, pick it up again and finally put it in the wood stove. If I skip the last step I will have to listen to Cheryl complain about her back! There is no better heat than toasting yourself like a marshmellow next to the woodstove on a cold winter nite. NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS !! We need a couple dozen volunteers to give 15 min a month and contribute a short story about yourself etc and give me something to read on a cold winters nite.I remember in H.S. and thinking about the year 2000 an eternity away now it is 2006 Wow!!HAPPY NEW YEAR!!~~~Rusty

Please guys, try the other message board. It is sooo superior to this one. Imagine, we could have had a topic of holiday wishes which would have inspired more people to post. Just try it..It is not hard to learn to use it correctly. It is fun...add some new pictures of you or even baby pics as Pamela and I have done. Or add a pic of your dog or cat..or car..etc.......it can be so much fun if we get some people on the board. Merry Christmas Happy Chanukah Safe New Year's Eve

Is it that time already? Again? I wish everyone a wonderful and happy Christmas, a joyous Holiday and after that, I hope y'all get blasted drunk New Years eve, while drinking responsibly of course; whatever that means. Seriously, I hope everyone has a healthy, safe and happy 2006.

The outside temp here in Providence is edging up towards 20 this morning, but at least the sun is shining. As the radiators hiss and whistle, I send greetings to all on this shortest day of the year. May we all be stricken with huge portions of peace and good health in the new year. David just came home from working the night shift carrying a large plate of homemade cookies. Signing off to go do some serious snacking ('tis the season!). Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to each of you. Though Christmas has not quite arrived, I already have my present. I received it the first weekend in August. The gift I received was the knowledge that I am part of a very wonderful class with classmates who have grown into very special people. I guess I actually had that present in 1965, but it took me 40 years to open it. I am glad I finally did. God bless you all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU FROM UP IN THE NORTHEAST. ECKERT MIGHT HAVE 84 DEGREES ON 12/25, BUT DOES THAT REALLY FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS? WE HAVE SNOW COVERED LAWNS AND ICE ON THE LAKE AND ITS A BEAUTIFUL WINTER SCENE. ITS A BRISK 18 DEGREES THIS MORNING AND IT MIGHT WARM UP TO 30 TODAY. BUT COMPARED TO MOODY THIS IS LIKE FLORIDA. I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.

Hi Guys... Click on the reunion pics section and then go to message board 2. Once it starts to be utilized by more people, it will really be fun. It gives us more flexibility than this message board does, and you will find it is awesome. It takes just a quick attempt to figure out how it works. so give it a shot as it will generate more conversation between us. So far Pam, Donna, Rob, and myself are the only onces who have ventured on to that section. Join us!!!!!

Hi: There is a new message board with a format similar to "classmates" that I have created. To find it you have to click on the "reunions pics" section of the menu on the left. Then click on "message board 2". You will have to log in. Then click on the category, and then on any topics. For example, if you click on Football, you will see my post of the topic of the game between So. Cal. and Texas. Then click on my post and you can reply. It is easy once you try it. I think you will really enjoy the new addition. Have fun, my friends.

Received word from Mearlene's sister, Ruth that there is still not much change in her condition. May I suggest we all keep her in our thoughts and prayers, along with another round of cards...her son's address is...Joe Lombardi-225 Pierce Drive-Stony Point, New York 10980. Am sure this would be of great comfort and support to her and her family. At this very special time of the year, extending all good wishes to everyone.

With all the kudos being laid at Louie B's feet, I would be remiss if I didn't add mine. Aside from the job he's done on our website, our humble Lou B. has been garnering other accolades. Lou was found to posess California's largest collection of manly monthly periodicals. It is rumored to be worth hundreds of dollars, but Lou I don't think they're considered in mint condition if the pages can't be opened. Furthermore, Lou hasn't been resting on his laurels, though he was found passed out on his petunias. When not immersed in questionable chatrooms, upgrading our website, or just counting his money, Lou still finds time to work on his latest concept. He won't tell me what it does, but it's called the pornograph. By the way, Lou, where's the Doctor's oldie disc?

I just received the following from a college buddy of mine and since we have had so many jokes about colonoscopies on this message board, I thought this would be fun. Dr. Bob, are you the unnamed physician? "Colonoscopies are no joke, but these comments during the exam were quite humorous..... A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their colonoscopies: 1. "Take it easy, Doc. You're boldly going where no man has gone before! 2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?" 3. "Can you hear me NOW?" 4. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" 5. "You know, in Arkansas, we're now legally married." 6. "Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?" 7. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out..." 8. "Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!" 9. "If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit! 10. "Hey Doc, let me! know if you find my dignity." 11. "You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?" 12. "God, now I know why I am not gay." And the best one of all... 13. "Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is not up there?"

Hmmmm! So Rusty is assuming we are all doing fun things and have interesting stories to tell. Unfortunately, Rusty, I spend most of my time at my daughter's swim meets and soccer games. But I am happy to say that my favorite time of the year has finally arrived - Yes, it's Christmas PARTY time, and I'm going to my first on Thursday evening in Little Italy. And I am hoping that my dancing feet are so sore on Friday morning that I will need to wear my slippers all day. Anyway, here's wishing everyone a happy holiday season.

Just read your post with a smile as it "snowed" in Paris this weekend for about an hour or two, an unusual event that everyone gets all excited about. Unfortunately, it turns to "mush" pretty soon on the city streets, especially when it then turned to rain! elsewhere in the country there was quite a lot of bit, again creating power cuts, and traffic problems and even at the Paris airport, planes delayed etc. Big event, as it is often that we get snow in November! Must be soo much prettier in Vermont. Be well, and watch out for frost bite ! ciao

I hope everyone has had a good Thanksgiving. We all have reason to be extra thankful as members of the class of 65!!%*! I am experiencing a full blown change of season today. 6 to 10"of snow,I still have not recovered from my first skiing adventure @ Sugarloaf a few days ago. There is a lot of leg mussle that never gets used and due to the icy conditions I took a spill that hurts these older bodies( nothing major). I watched one younger skiier crash and burn, first you would see a skii in the air, an arm, then a head etc. As the snow settles to your amazement she was back on her feet crusing down the hill, the young survive! Anyway Ive got both snowblowers running, snow shovels on the porch and when I have warmed up while writing this note im headed out to tinker on the snow machine. It is hard to describe how cold your fingers can get. We had a 50th birthday party for one of Cheryls cousins the other day. The theme was dressing from the sixties, complete with the re-enactment of a Beatles band, what a good time. You all would have enjoyed it.Louie has worked hard to create this site so reward him by signing on , saying hello, and if possible a little story about something you are doing. It is going to be a long winter for me so give me something to read once in a while. I think after dinner I will Sauna and take a dive in the lake. Keep on Paddling~~~Rusty

LAST NIGHT WAS A "BIGGIE" FOR THE CLASS OF 65. JERRY LEO WAS INDUCTED INTO THE NANUET SPORTS HALL OF FAME, PHIL INTRODUCED ERIC AND JOAN LEO AND THERE WAS A SHORT VIDEO ON JERRY'S LIFE. THE TRUE ESSANCE OF JERRY CAME OUT LAST NIGHT, THE DEVIL, THE LEADER AND, THE ATHLETE. EDDIE WILSON INTRODUCED HIS BROTHER THAD AS AN INDUCTEE, AND I SPOKE FOR MY FATHER AS THE LIFETIME AWARD WINNER. RICKY COLE AND LYNN CARPENTER WERE THERE ALSO. COACH ACHILLE WAS ALSO INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME LAST NIGHT AND HE MENTIONED MANY 65ER'S IN HIS SPEECH. IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT, MANY PEOPLE MENTIONED THE 65 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP TRACK TEAM AS THE GREATEST TRACK TEAM IN NANUET'S HISTORY. WE ARE ALIVE AND WELL AND THE IMPACT THAT THE CLASS OF 65 HAS HAD ON NANUET IS AMAZING.WE ARE THE LARGEST CONTRIBUTER TO THE JERRY LEO PRESS BOX AND WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASS TO EVER GRACE THE HALLS OF NANUET HIGHT SCHOOL.

Surprised this gloriously sunny California morning not to see the Tiger fans (LSU-Clemson) thumping their chests after big wins. Dr. Bob and Rebel are quiet because Rocky Top is almost mortibund and Elvis's team almost made them cry. And refering back to an old conversation about Lenny being a gourmet cook, knowing his interest in things cold and frozen, how many ways are there to fricasee a hockey puck.

Just got caught up reading a few weeks' worth of posts. Too bad I can't speak sports! Halloween was great here in Providence. We always get lots of kids. I knew it was going to be a special night when the first person at the door was dressed as road kill. Anita, what a treat it must have been to sit and listen to Bob Harniman's stories. (What's up with the Rhode Island School of Design site, Louie? My niece is a freshman there--RISD is a 30-minute walk from our front door. Ron Hall and Laura Child went there.) OKAY EVERYONE...ANITA REPORTING THAT BOB HARNIMAN , ALIAS, TREE , IS ALIVE AND WELL AND I FOUND HIM THIS WEEKEND!!! Tom and I spent the weekend at Lake Keowee, near CLEMSON...GO TIGERS....and took a side trip to Highlands, NC....I found out exactly where Tree's gallery was and we panned to stop there on our way out of town. We were walking past an art gallery and their was a bear carving out side. We thought maybe it was one of Tree's Sculptures and but I knew his gallery was a few miles down the rouad. At that point I stopped and saw a bearded man leaning on a pick up truck parked outside the gallery and I said, "OH MY GOD...THERE HE IS!!" I said , "Hi Tree!". He said HI and didn''t have the slightest idea who I was....he looked kind of nervous...I said, IT"S ANITA!..He looked relieved..I think he thought I was a woman from his past that had come to find him and ask for years of back child support for the child of his that I had been raising on my own for years....after hearing the tales of his escapades for the last 40 years..I think there might be a few of those women out there!! Anyway, there is no doubt that he had come from work.....he was covered in wood chips and had a light "EAU DE GASOLINE " about him..he has been busy working in Highlands....and playing hard too! He took us to the only bar in town...we had a drink and Tom and I listened to his WILD stories. Needless to say it was quite an experience talkng to him...He said he was sorry he missed the reunion but he was in the Hamptons with HILLARY....if you need more details about my encounter...email me..40 years really does change some people more than others!!!

I was lucky enough to spot the elusive Gaylord and Mary Beth up near the Webb River a week ago. I will be guiding snow shoe trips this winter to there back woods cabin in Phillips for anyone who is interrested in trying to find this duo.The rivers have been swolen beyond belief this fall . I am amazed that only five paddlers are the only ones enjoying this wonderland of cascading brooks and rivers. Of course paddling in the snow would send a shiver down most peoples spine. Winter is closing in quickly I kind of get depressed with the short days and frozen water. We do have some great skiing at Sugarloaf Saddleback and Sunday River, I prefer the spring skiing.I do have a sauna available to warm things up then you can cut a hole in the ice and jump in to cool off ,if it does not kill you. It is good to see some posts from Tom and Mark,We had a great time playing Basketball and in a way we were # one. It is interresting that the accountant would keep a record. Mark how about posting a picture of that billboard with your daughters picture on it. I thought nurses married doctors and they paid for the wedding. The ice fishing at Robs sounds like a good way to kill sometime this winter. Everyone!Get on the site and say hi once in a while It would be good to hear from you.~~~Rusty

Rob- A Fishing&Drinking Team- You're a bloody genius! To make things interesting, I think we should take nominations for honorary captain. Bat proposed Billy Fee. I'd like to add a couple of names. Al " You call that a %$^&**$#(* tip" Goombatz, of Rockland Maplewys fame and who can forget Terry "Tequilla" Stockdale who had to be surgically removed from his stool ( not by Dr. Bob) in the Triangle. Let's hear more suggestions. Make it a meaningful election. Gaylord- Beer and ice fishing blast- I'm there! Lou B's game of the week- USC vs. TCU. can the seemingly impenatrable Trojan defense withstand the punishing battering ram offense that is the Horned Frogs? Only time and Lou B. know for sure.

The last time I saw him he was doning his wetsuit to run five or six miles of flood-swollen rapids on the Web river that ended in a thirty-foot, raging cascade down into the equally flood-swollen, equally raging Androscoggin river...Never found out if he made it or not! Happy Halloween to all! I don't know about you guys, but not a single Halloween passes without me remembering Gaylord's rendition of "The Monster Mash." That was truly Halloween to me. Of course there was also Gate Night with my old buddy, Billy Nivins, but that's another story. Louie B., a few health tips. First , stop shooting your wadd on family fare. Maybe something a little tamer like Marilyn Chamber's Behind the Green Tights. I'm sure it's more up your alley. There's no need for you to fly all the way to New York for good pizza. Just send me air fare and I'll be more than happy to hand deliver it. And finally, when it comes to college football, you're missing the boat with U.S.C., Texas and the like. I don't think S.H.I.T. is the answer either. For a man with a mind like yours, the only game in town is U. of South Carolina vs. Oregon State. You figure it out.

Peggy.....Thanks for the thoughts. You are as special as I always say you are....However, some who know that I've had 2 heart attackes, 3 strokes, quadruple bypass, bleeding ulcer, etc. etc. are now emailing me thinking it was serious. All I had was a mild case of the flu (and it wasn't even the bird flu though recently someone flipped me the bird). I can't even brag about it! I am fine (except for some obvious mental defects) only I ended up too sick to go to New York as planned. (As if there are no sickies in New York) However, New York will always be there so I will reschedule. Oh wait..I once said that about New Orleans.

Hello EVERYONE! I haven't peeked at the Board since August - Rich printed Anita's message about Mearlene, I phoned Pam to get Mearlene's address, and caught her mid-meal at the Nanuet Hotel with Denise, John, Doris and Lenny!! - sans Louie, who couldn't travel per Dr's orders! Here's hoping YOU are recovering, Louie. Pam told me to get Mearlene's brother's address off the Message Board - and couldn't help but read a few lines. Robbie, and all interested, here is Eric Leo's info:1208 Villa Isle Court, Pasadena, Maryland 21122; e-mail: leoslions@comcast.net; phone:410-439-1026. His wife's name is Mary. He graduated the same year as my brother, '61 - he from Spring Valley, my bro. from Nyack. Both his parents are deceased. The Leo girls are Suzanne, Joan, Carol and Cindy. I have received sweet/terrific messages from classmates - and intend to respond in this calendar year! I realize our fortune of friendship while relating the entire - pre-events-& post - reunion experience to others. Peggy

Bob, I know you found it easy to go from Golden Knight to Scarlet Knight, but against any of those other teams it will be good night...Though a Bruin supporter, they are very overrated and not deserving of the lofty rating despite their record. I keep my nitros with me when I watch their games. USC is a powerhouse, but they MIGHT have some trouble against CAL when they travel to Northern California. I like the Vols only because of the Clausen family. (Jimmy, the high school qb might be the best high school qb of all time. Check him out..) However, I think Texas could win it all.....But do not forget the Sam Houston Institute of Technology. They might not have a team, but they have great initials. And do not forget UC Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs have to be the best nickname for a college team.

A lot of songs we danced to were included and the audience was filled with old farts like us just lapping up the performances. If you are interested in seeing this DVD, post a note on the message board and request it from whoever has it. If nobody is interested, please send it back to me at the address included. Bob

Kro, that was a great idea to have our JV Basketball team memorialized somehow. But let me clarify one point. It was actually our sophomore year (62-63) that we went 0-18. In our junior year (63-64) we went 3-16. Now how could you get those 2 years mixed up? Our 3 wins were Tuxedo twice and Nyack. Let me quote from article after the Nyack game (from my scrapbook): Headline – “Joy in Nanuet, JV Posts Win” – “Putting themselves on the winning side of the ledger for the first time in a year and a half, the Nanuet JV Golden Knights broke a 17 game (league) losing streak with a 41-35 victory over their Nyack counterparts. Led by field general Gary Coopersmith and lanky pivot man Rich Krampetz, who scored 11 and 8 points respectively, the home town squad hammered at a steady clip of 9, 10, 11, 11 in the 4 quarters. . . .”(note the steady improvement each quarter) By the way, in the second match up of the year, Nyack beat us by 26 points.

I have been told that the response to creating Mearlene's card has been overwhelming. The response to the Jerry Leo pressbox was wonderful. Knowing all that, and witnessing the lovefest that took place at the reunion (especially Friday night) has really opened my eyes. Though I must admit that I never recognized it during the high school years, I am very priviliged to be part of a very special group. The Nanuet High School class of 1965 is incredible, and your responses have proven it. If it wasn't for the harrassment of Anita, Pam, and Joel, I would not have attended the reunion. I would have missed spending time with a unique and wonderful group of people. Sorry it took me 40 years to realize it. But I know it now!

In ref to Tom Krolls comments about the 63-64 Basketball team, we did have more than our share of hard times and loses with Coach Fitzpatrick and yet after all these years I still feel a warm bond with those of you I had the opportunity to play with which went on to play Varsity. Some of my best times was catching behind the plate in JV Baseball, unfortunately we didn't have a productive season either. Either way we did play our hearts out!

Hi All, As a takeoff on Sue Allen's suggestion, I am going to be making a get well card for Mearlene that will be mailed to her. The outside of the card will be our group photo. On the inside of the card I would like to include well wishes from as many classmates and friends as possible. In order to do this, I need all of you to e-mail me your sentiments. Please try to keep your messages to one or two-lines maximum. You can use the link on this website or you can e-mail me at WordStore@aol.com. And Sue, thanks for planting the seed.

Rob, I was wondering since you're big in the Rockland Sports Hall of Fame, maybe you could pull a few strings for perhaps Nanuet's most unsung heroes. That's right, I'm talking about the 63-64 Golden Knights boys' jayvee basketball team! We fought and clawed our way to the bottom of the standings. We missed our share of shots, but never a party. We learned to stare defeat in the face and never flinch. Well almost never. We had a strong bond and played every game as though it might be our first. We were 0-18, but boy did we have a blast!

Hi All! Wish I had something exciting to report. Unless you have any interest in hearing about my lunch with Harry B, our mini reunion in Congers on Karaoke night when we girls performed "It's Raining Men" to a packed house, or my last visit to Red Rock's with my girlfriends to dance on the bar, I'm afraid my life is a bit boring. I am planning a scouting trip soon to scope out some possibilities along the Jersey shore for our 60th bash (thank you Kathy M for the suggestions). Company is always welcomed - a good sense of humor and/or a fun sports car preferred. We can put in some good CD's or an mp3 and pretend we're still young... ooops! I forgot, we still are!!! Hope everyone is doing well... wishing Mearlene a speedy recovery. Love to you all.

It's a humid and soggy Saturday here in southern New England. When I walked into the supermarket earlier this afternoon, "Louie Louie" was blaring from the ceiling speakers, and I felt my heart squeeze a bit with missing all of you and that amazing weekend we had together. Sorry Senor Kroll, but you miss the point. Whether or not I am in Never Never Land or the Neverland Ranch, I am still hanging out with a fairy. And even if MJ was visiting Never Never Land, it would not be to see me. It would obviously be to see the Lost Boys. Same ad at West Farms Mall in Farmington, CT. So if anyone in Ct area notices those ads, that's our "little girl". Take care all.

Hey Jerry; can't really say that becoming older makes one any wiser, otherwise why would I have waited 32 years before going back to school for my degree. It's bad enough that everyone is younger including my professors. Kind of makes me wonder about the differences should I be able to continue on for my masters. Wow....It is awesome to hear from you, Gaylord. However there is a rule that must be adhered to. The rule is that once you post it becomes mandatory that you join us when we celebrate our 60th birthday together. So, now that this has been decided for you, be prepared to party in 2007. See you then and looking forward to it. Once you are there, the family that we have become will at last be complete.

Hi Guys: Just happened to ride past Rob's lakeside estate last Sunday on the old Hog and got to thinking about you-all all over again. Most of you folks look great!...must be something in the hometown beer. Tanya stopped by the Ringwood cabin while she was here for the reunion and we had a little fun talking about old times, but it's gonna take a while for her to get back on track...how about a follow-up phone call to her. I'm sure she'd appreciate it. It seems like I see Russ more than anybody these days although he doesn't know it. We pass his farm quite often when we're up at our Maine cabin, but don't stop in too often because, like us, it seems he and his family are into a ton of stuff and time is so precious these days. I gotta run since there's no such word as "retirement" in my vocabulary and my clients are screaming. Love to all. Gay

I agree with Louie, the site needs to be kept "alive".. Personally, if it is not, what am I going to do all day at the office, when there is nothing to read or write about other than REAL work.. I had a minute account of some mega gastronimical event at Lenny's recently. Sounded divine. Hey, Lenny have you read any of my sister Julia's cookbooks?? I too am into cooking, except in France, it's not too unusual. I would love to exchange recipies!! Bravo.. I don't mind dancing on the table, if it is solid enough! Just wind me up and I keep going for hours.. don't even need batteries. Seriously, keep in touch everyone!

Hey Guys.. The warm feelings and the memories of the reunion still exist. But the dialogue and the communication have slowed. Many of us go on the site occasionally but rarely post. I hope that changes. We are paying to keep the site going, but only will continue to do so if it makes sense. So let's keep it going.....Evn Yatto has been silent, but he is obviously in mourning due to the success Alabam and Shula are having.....It has been discovered that Lenny D. is a gourmet chef. It seems to me that he should cater our 60th birthday bash. Do they make sushi birthday cakes?..... For entertainment Pam and Donna (and that kid, Bonnie) can dance on the tables and Dr. Bob can show a highlight film of his work......I still can not accept the fact that Gail W. looks the same as she did 40 years ago. Shades of Dorian Gray...she must have a painting at home that is very grotesque.........

Am I the oldest in the class? I do remember being very popular at the start of school senior year. I naturally thought it was because of my fabulous personality, boyish good looks, and very cool car; however it was primarily because I turned 18 before most, and could legally buy beer. This Sat. everyone sing happy birthday to me. 9/24/46!!! Myrtle Beach may be a good place for the 60th. Always voted tackiest beach on the east coast. Plenty of cheap hotel rooms, bars and restaurants, plus y'all swing by my house [3hrs. west] for an after party party. One thought though, are we prepared to see Rob V in a speedo on the beach!!??

Seems to me that Louie's brain disfunction must come from years of coaching futbol and demonstrating the proper method of how to head a ball, too much head trauma. Dr. Bob's may be a side effect of his spelunking , the canary may not die but some olafactory nerves have been effected. And always remember, in the colonoscopy recovery room, no matches please, or it gives new meaning to the expression "FIRE IN THE HOLE" Sorry the Tigers lost a tough one to the Canes. This message board could have a lot of potential, for the class of 65 if we can get a couple dozen people,at least,to post a life experience once in a while. Lets hear from a few of you! This past week I tried to find Merelene Henderson @ Seboomoock camp ground on Moosehead Lake .Actually I was running the the river and Canada Falls. I watched some 5# +- salmon frolic in one rapid before I joined them.Beautiful weather , warm clean water, and few bugs, and very few people. What a life experience."there is nothing-absolutely nothing-half so much doing as messing about in boats" may I add on a good swift river. My own ego trip. Rob , I am willing to listen to a fishing story any time you want to tell one. I remember the motor scooter on englewood ave, I think you should have one in retirement. I have a couple 1978 175 on -off Hondas I run around the farm once in a while. Post a note once in a while.~~~~Rusty

DOC BOB,NOW THAT I AM RETIRED AND DON'T HAVE TO COMMUTE TO WORK EVERYDAY, I WAS THINKING OF GETTING MYSELF A VESPA MOTORSCOOTER LIKE I USED TO HAVE BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL TO TOOL AROUND TOWN TO GET THE PAPER AND SUCH. MY FAMILY WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO BUY ONE, MY WIFE SAID I WOULD LOOK LIKE ARTE JOHNSON FROM LAUGH IN ON THE LITTLE BIKE AND MY SON THINKS I WOULD LOOK LIKE A CIRCUS CLOWN. MY DAUGHTER LIKES THE IDEA BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO BORROW IT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE(DAUGHTERS ARE LIKE THAT) SO A PEE WEE HERMAN ON THE BIKE ISN'T SUCH A BAD IDEA. Hey Doc: It must be a rewarding feeling to know that in Novermber when I have my colonoscopy I will be thinking of you........As for the banter, well you know you love it!... I also believe that I am probably the only person who can understand and translate your posts. Well possibly Eckert can, as he is considerably abnormal as well.................

Ah, the toc toc of keyboards and a whiff of flatulence. The Website is ALIVE, but is there a living will? While my life is going on fine without some banter of old mates, my life has not degenerated to a high point of the great orangy flavor of that morning dose of Metamucil. It's fun to stay connected with you old farts, but maybe you need an extra dose of Geritol. Louie and Eck are in the top 10 for the shootout that #24 and Earnhardt missed cause they had nibs on the fast lane. The rest of you need walkers with wheels on the front so you can make it to your computers. Let's set the 60th Bday for Elmwood Manor Nursing Home. Haley's MO with that Doan's diuretic, Sir?

Ok Doc..My turn to throw in friendly needles! (There is a reason that wit is part of my last name)....I dreamt I saw Dr. Yatto complete with a miner's cap with a light so he can look into crevices... As for SEC football, the TWO-TIME defending national champion is from which state? Seems like it is the west coast USC. Now as for your SEC jocks, the minimum requirement to play for an SEC school is....a pulse.......OK Yatto, now to raise the ante of the halloween challenge. If someone in or near the county will have a '65 reunion halloween party, I will fly in from California for it. Doc, you are alot closer so will you be there? This is the new Halloween challenge, Senor Doctor. Will you show?????????????? (Actually I hope you do as I would have liked to have spent more time talking to you at the reunion. Sorry you had to cut out so early. I guess with the mother-in-law situation you probably will not, but at least I can hope!)

Easy now Bob and Louie, combine green and football and we get we get the Fightin' Irish at 2-0, beating ranked teams handily. And Bruin Lou is no doubt happy with their 2-0 start too. And how about the highest scoring team(week one) in the NFL, " THE NEW YORK GIANTS"!!!!! Maybe these are all just halloween nightmares, if so, don't wake me. And speak kindly of frogs, my son-in-law is a professional frogman.

About an hour after logging off our moribund website and my needle at Louie in green tights I had a thought. If anyone is interested in an online Halloween party for 65ers, count me in. Our annual event at home is on hold with our Mother-in-law obligations, but I will pledge a serving dish of my homemade Bolognese (serves 8-10) lasagne with handmade spinach noodles as taught to me by my landlady in Italy for best costume, and a set of 6, 2 piece Reese's peanut butter cups in DARK CHOCOLATE, (never heard or saw them?, ltd edition and out of this world) for most "delicious". Other ideas for categories, and goodie bag prizes? Hate to see all fading away. Louie in green tights? What category? Frog legs prize package?? You Halloweeners please weigh in.

ORANGE ALERT! ORANGE ALERT! No it's not Hurricane Ophelia hitting SC. Clemson plays Miami at home this Saturday and is a home field underdog. Clemson finally has running backs and Bowden is from a family heritage of great coaching. Miami is in a down trend with a fade in coaching. Clemson can win. Think the wind is howling with Ophelia? Watch out for Anita Sunday AM. Rob is too worried about the Yankees to get into college football but you Southerners know what season this is. The Auburn Tiger takes on football powerhouse Ball State this weekend as a 34 point favorite. My Jets are a 6 point favorite at home after taking last Sunday off. In nonfootball news, I was transported to the ER by ambulance after experiencing a nightmare where I saw Louis Bilowitz in green tights. Dee showed them a picture of Louis in street clothes and they have contacted authorities in California. Orange alert?? RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

Principal at the Sr. High School 1967-1985. Thanks again from reviving some fond memories. Great job!! You did a wonderfully incredible job with this and I enjoyed the reunion website thoroughly. Interesting reading Pam's post...It suddenly dawned on me that it really has only been a month since the reunion. It feels like it has been several months. I already miss that weekend and can not wait until our birthday bash. This is the first time in my life that I can actually say I can not wait until I am 60. And this is because of all of you. But then I will not be able to wait until the 45th when I am 63. Then comes 68 and the 50th.......Anita, you need to start planning our 100 birthday bash. That one has to be awsome. Make sure there are wheelchair ramps available. The menu will have to be prunes, jello, and mashed potatos. Then we can sit and talk about how great sex was when we were in our 80's and Dr. Bob can think of the last 50 years of colonoscopies. We can give out "Depends" with the Nanuet logo on them. Pam will only look 70 then, Gail Woltjen's face will still look like her senior picture(she is the female Dorian Gray), Bob Harniman will have carved the entire rain forest of Costa Rica, Ted Graziani would have been president when he was 80, and Jennifer Lopez's daughter will play Anita in the movie "The Reunion Planner".

Yats, thanks for all the compliments, I did hurt my knees around chicks, getting kicked all the time for inappropriate remarks, and then crawling back to appoligize, no, it was crawling home from the bar too often. As you will recall, no one at Mahattan could do a shot of beer a minute for an hour but this old man did. Shoulders and elbows still o.k. You perform a great service even if it goes against the flow of traffic. And a young mind is a dangerous thing especially with a lifetime of experience, luckily the ones in this group are trapped in our experienced bodies. And the youngest of our group, seems to be a 90-way tie from what I saw on 8/6/05

Sorry Yats and Co...you all lose...Anyone who spent time with me at the reunion know I have not come close to growing up. I am getting younger each year. Soon I will be a fetus. So I must be younger than all of you! My soccer players call me "Peter Pan" for a reason and it is not the green tights. Ergo my email address. I see that Harold was lying to me when he said there were 42 of you younger than me. We need to get the actual b'dates of Myra, Edith and Tommy F to see if one of them is younger than Anita. Rusty, it's hard to tell that you're such an 'old man'! Georganne just phoned and cast her vote for a 60th bash at Robie's lakeside home. I am still amazed and in awe of the time spent with all of you. Word of warning to lall: don't lend anything to Liz; I have been looking for my 45rpm record of the Dovell's , 'You Can't Sit Down' since 1962 - and she didn't return it until Aug. 6, 2005!! As for the Birthday event, I am one of the older ones in a group once again being March 28, 1946 and although I will be 61 at the time of the event, I promise to party as if I were 60 again esp if they continue to have Jose Cuervo tequila available. TO: Jerry Allen; at the reunion you said we would sit down and do a few shots together but didn't really get around to it- what better time then at the birthday bash? What do you think.

Louie, must also agree with you at finding an out of the way place for a party weekend with little distractions. I do know that way upstate (past Camp Drum) is a place called Bonnie Castle. We held a state Vietnam Veteran convention there several years ago. It requires some driving since it is right near the northern part of the state by the Canadian border, but is very nice, and if not mistaken there was a golf course available and they also offered an early evening boat ride. My senior year classes at Dominican started today and my year long internship at the Montrose VA Campus begins next week. If I fail to add to this website in a while, please understand that much of my time will be spent studying and the writing of term papers not to mention internship client reports but I will continue to find the time to log on and see how everyone is doing. Stay in touch!

Myrtle Beach S.C. sounds great to me. Close enough so I can sleep in my own bed. Plenty on sunshine, golfing, shopping, beaches and entertainment. Off season is around Oct. till April. After that the rates usually double. Twelve hours or so from Rockland County. I can't fit everybody in my house but we sure could try. If anyone would like to check it out you are welcome. Two votes for s.c..Quite a few years ago while traveling to Florida my wife andI stopped at Myrtle Beach in January. 35$a nite ocean front open the door walk out on the beach. Of course I was the only one swimming in the ocean but I found it much warmer than Old Orchard beach Maine in aug. We totally enjoyed it without the crowds. Maby we could get an off season rate at one of the hotel's. We will make it rock hopefully without the crowds and super heat. Of course us snow birds could appreciate a semi winter break. Before this reunion I was ready to return to my 2 hr from home circle, for the rest of my life. I have been inspired to visit a few of you ,some time.Probably durring winter. I have sent Louie a copie of the reunion video. everyone will enjoy, hopefully we can get some copies to pass around. I see the potential that I could have done a super video if only I had brought my own camera and did not have battery issues.Next time I will be ready. As long as we are having a youngest contest we mite as well have an oldest contest.I am july 20 1946. So excuse my spelling and grammer etc.I was never a student. Please don't let me hog this website lets get a few more of you sharing life experiences and ideas and keep the site rolling. Anita, If Peggy is "youngest" on November 12th, I come close on November 2, 1947.. Gives me an idea: why don't we all update the "directory" with our birth dates, that we know for sure who the "baby" of the class will be ! Russ, sounds like a great place , but will everyone be up to hiking, and skiing and whatever as a gang?? Like you say, individual weekends for sure... Louis, I agree with you about the cost involved with a cruise, even if the idea really appeals to me. I can guarantee you international traveliing aint't no bargain , especially full season!!! Guess alot depends on what time of the year etc..

My take on the 60th is this: Some people had to struggle financially to be able to attend the reunion. Let's say for example that the cruise leaves from Miami. People have to pay to get to Miami and then pay the high cost of a cruise. It will eliminate a large portion of the class. I suggest as others have, that we find a wonderful resort on the east coast. Some people will be able to save money and drive there. I am not in favor of Vegas even if it is close to me. There are too many distractions. I like the idea of being able to spend time with our classmates as that is the reason we are getting together. THere are great places at Hilton Head in So. Carolina for example. I just hope that we choose something that many of the class can afford. Bottom line is I am not in favor of a cruise, though I am only one vote.

In response to Pam Grondins note a week ago about crashing my place. I am still waiting for one person. My spare house is not a wilderness experience. It is a project in my spare time. I don't seem to have any spare time.Wilderness is an hour away.Maine is a suburb of Boston now,but I know spots there are few people. What i do is explore the waterways ice out to ice in, numerous hiking trails and mountains, snowshoe ,X-counrty and downhill ski,and watch the sun set on the lake! Not for everyone. On the farm there is ample space in the back pasture ,semi wildernes to do anything, wants ,and no one will ever care. There are two old camper school buses that can hold several people, beats tenting, Back in the old days I drove them around , Quite a party. Insurance and gas took them off the road.I know some of the bands that still jam togther and would love an audience.Weekend party ,yes, reunion type experience, probably not.Anyway you are welcome to come make the best of it anytime. I kind of like Steve Perins idea of trying to meet some place for a mini vacation that may offfer built in activities and a new area to explore.Lets hear some ideas, of course there is always Paris.Any way my kayak partners and I keep repeating , the same words,"It does not get any beter than this."Feel like I am cheating the world on a budget.Hey! My parents are not home, Lets Party!!! Pam you and I take a nice picture~~~Rusty

Hi Folks, Still paying my dues for the sin of leaving town for the first time in more than a year. Paid more of a sin by visiting relatives in NY. Am forwarding checks to Anita for our group for the Jerry Leo Fund Raiser. We will be over $1000. Next best class? Show us the Money! BTW. We have lots of coeds who are sneeking up on 60 and are still NA NA NA! My Miss Dee woulda been a soph so she had two years of sport with me over my AARP invite. She thinks of herself as young, but you ladies are lookin' good. Sexist? Hell yes. Ask Rob or Bob. Is it a Bob thang? When I send along $ to Anita I am including a DVD Miss Dee gave me for Christmas a couple of years back. It was a fund raiser for Public TV of Doo Wop groups from the 50's and 60's from a concert in Pittsburgh. Hosted by Jerry Butler, it has some of the great groups performing some of the great songs we grew up with. 16 Candles by Johnny Maestro is worth the postage. Included are Earth Angel, Duke of Earl, Blue Moon, Moon Out Tonight, many others, by original groups performing live. My our age Endo nurses and families have loved it. Pass it around and get it back to me when done. Our group? The Best? FUGETABOUTIT! Bob

The reunion may be over but the memories are still vivid and wonderful. I don't know about the rest of you, but there was not enough time to see and talk with everyone. So, with that in mind, for a 60th birthday party for us (and an almost 60th for that youngster, Anita) maybe we should think in terms of a venue where we can spend more time together and not be scattered. That probably means a resort in the mountains or at a beach somewhere in the east to help boost attendence. For a higher cost we could consider a cruise. Vegas sounds nice but would probably limit our ability to intermingle as everyone would be scattering to gamble, visit hotels, shop and dine at various restaurants. I thought about a camping trip for everyone for about a nanosecond until I realized that my wife would be looking for Camp Four Seasons Hotel. Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas?

I have only just seen all the messages posted in the past two weeks and am devastated to read about Klaus. I also e mailed him before the reunion, was delighted that he replied and was far from even dreaming he would no longer be here two or three months later. I am very sad, and can only echo what others have said, life is too short and one has to make the most of every minute. Liz, how exciting about your Jazz concert! wow, I envy you and wish I could be there to listen to such great music.. I think Vegas is a neat idea, but a cruise could be pretty sensational too for a cruise 60th birthday, could I dare ask if anyone would want to come to Paris France??? I could organise one on the Seine! Whatever, wherevever, it is something to look forward to.. As for Jet Lag, are you kidding me??? What about me???? L.A. is a joke compared to a trans Atlantic trip , even if it is almost the same time!!! (going back anyhow).. Anita, just got your letter. thanks and will definitely keep in touch.. Like all of you say, this reunion has sparked something special that we really must keep alive !!! A BIENTOT. Donna

Great Post Cathy re New Yorkers..my take on it is as follows: I had not been in the county in 25 years. I have been in So. California since 1969. When I came to the reunion and spent time with New York friends, I realized that I was a New Yorker, not a Californian. I realized I had come home. When I went to see a game at Yankee Stadium and saw a sold out stadium give a standing ovation to a California Angel player for a great play, I realized I had come home. I have travelled extensively throught the world. But there are no people like New Yorkers. New Yorkers are the best. And I learned that you can live anywhere in the world but you will always be a New Yorker. And thank God for that!

FYI> Here is a NHS story from Spring Lake,NJ. I was down there on Tues. and I met a group of kids from the NHS Track Team going into their Senior Year. Earlier this summer one of the girls lost her class ring. Two weeks ago a guy with a metal detector found it, contacted the school, the school figured out who lost the ring and she was able to get it back. The three things I learned from this experience are: 1. Nanuet is still turning out some terrific kids. 2. Don't wear any jewelry to the beach you don't want to lose. 3. There are some really good people in NY and NJ. Also, my daughter lost her cell phone a big concert on Randall's Island this past weekend. A boy found it and FedEx'd it to her ASAP. No strings attached. I think New Yorkers have really great hearts and we just have a bad reputation.

A couple of reunion related "It's a small world" stories. 1. Harry Blauvelt comes up to me at Friday night pizza party and tells me that I have a nice brother. I said "which brother and how do you know him?". It turns out my brother Tim, who is a UPS driver, is delivering a package to Harry at his house in Goshen one day. Somehow they get around to talking fishing (both are fishermen). In the conversation, Harry starts telling a "fish tale" and mentions Nanuet. So Tim asks what the connection is with Nanuet. And Harry explains that he used to live there and went to school there. So Tim says "well maybe you know my father Mr. Burns the English teacher and my brother Mark from "Class of '65". 2. At the reunion, I am talking to Ed Hoblin (Ed and I had gone through St. Margaret's School in Pearl River together for 8 years and then NHS for 4 years) and he tells me that he now lives in Montgomery, NY. Well that is where my brother (same one-Tim) lives. So I tell that to Ed and tell him what street Tim lives on. It happens that Ed is currently doing a construction project on same street. Later when I mention Ed's name to Tim and his wife Darlene, it turns out that Darlene knows Ed's wife Peg from local church activities. "It indeed is a small world!"

Message to Dr. Bob - I spent the longest time trying to figure out what you were trying to say to me at the beginning of your message. Then I realized that the first word in your message was a "verb" (remember my father was an English teacher) and not my name. You doctors speak like you write--incomprehensible. But I do agree with you about Las Vegas. That would be my vote for 60th birthday bash. "What happens here, stays here".

WE TALKED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A PLAQUE ON THE PRESSBOX WITH ALL OF THEIR NAMES AND HE THOUGHT THAT WE COULD "WORK SOMETHING OUT" IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE THE STANDARD THAT EVERY OTHER CLASS WILL JUDGE THEMSELVES BY, BUT WE ALWAYS KNEW THAT ANYWAY. SEND YOUR CHECKS TO ANITA OR BOB YATTO . THEIR ADDRESSES ARE IN THE DIRECTORY.

HI Y'ALL...I am back in SC and wondering WHERE IS EVERYONE??? I have started a new job because SADLY, the REUNION job I had for the past 5 months is over!!! I took a job at a local newspaper and I love it, but I rush home each night to check the message board and look at new REUNION photos and there are none!! COME ON YOU GUYS...KEEP THE ENERGY GOING! We have created a new connection that I hope we can keep going on this website..what better way to communicate with everyone than by posting a message. Keep us posted on what is happening to you and your family. WE NEED NEW PICTURES AND WE NEED THEM FROM ALL OF YOU!! There were so many of you there that I have not seen on the site yet, and I know that classmates that did not attend are checking in to see you ...SO PLEASE SEND THEM TO LOUIE and if you are not sure how to do that, you can email him or call him...check your directory for his contact info! I am STILL SMILING about the great time we all had..watch for a letter from me asking you to respond in writing so we can compile some great reunion stories and memories to share with everyone. BY THE WAY..Y'ALL come down and see us in SC...we have plenty of room for visitors! The welcome mat is always out! Love, Anita

I am having so much fun looking at all of the reunion photos that are posted. It reminds me of what a wonderful weekend we all had. Seeing everyone's smiling and laughing faces makes me very glad there is going to be a 60th birthday bash. I can't imagine going even five years without seeing you all again. I tried to talk to almost everyone over the three days, but see now that I have missed a few. Rita Wilhelm, John Jolly and Rich Hollahan... it is my loss that I didn't get to speak with each of you.

There are over 160 pictures just of Saturday night on the site. In addition, there are lots of pictures of Friday night and Sunday night. These create great memories. Keep them coming, guys. They will be put on the site as soon as I receive them. Thanks to those who have sent in the pictures for us to share. But there is plenty of room for many more. It is my desire to have pictures of everyone on the site. Each of you who took pictures might have some of your classmates who either do not appear on the site yet or who do not have that many shots of them. So please, help us.

Joel, I echo your emotions. The entire weekend was near-perfect. However, it was the Friday night lovefest that I will never forget. I have never seen such emotion in my life. To me it was easily the highlight of the weekend. To see the hugs, and to watch the tears flow was a sight to behold. If you asked me how was the pizza, I would have to answer "what pizza?".... We must not let these feelings go dormant again. We can not wait until our 50th a decade from now. Please plan on sharing our 60th birthday. It will not be a reunion. It will be totally different than this past experience. It will just be friends getting together somewhere to celebrate our birthdays together. How about some suggestions for the party? The two that I keep hearing are 1. a cruise and 2. a resort........any other ideas?...........Yes, very sad about Klaus. It is another reason we do not want to wait until our 50th to reconnect.........Stay well

I'm about to leave for a family vacation for a week (with no computer), but just wanted to let those of you in the NYC area know that I will be performing (as a member of the Providence Singers) with Dave Brubeck and his quartet (and a jazz ensemble) on September 14 at the new jazz space at Lincoln Center. We will perform Dave's "Gates of Justice", a piece he wrote in the late sixties, and we'll be primiering another work of his, "The Commandments". The Providence Singers opened the Newport Jazz Festival last summer with Dave and "Gates of Justice" and the energy between performers and audience was electric. To buy tickets, log on at www.oyhoo.com.

This past weekend was truly a special moment for all of us...even those who couldn't be there were touched by the effort people made to get them there. It can never be recaptured or duplicated. Walking into Nanuet Restaurant was like stepping back in time... like 'The Twilight Zone'... the energy and raw emotion and joy was beyond anything we could of anticipated. I think The Class of '65 is a better, stronger, classier... and a more generous and feeling group of people having had this experience. Thank you all.

Good idea Bob and Louie..we raised$800 at the Reunion so let's use it all for the bricks..the scholarship fund is self sustaining and the bricks will be a lasting legacy. I think we should list the names of all the classmates we have lost...I have asked Rob Veltidi to handle this with the Hall of Fame people....I am sure he would welcome any suggestions... You all continue to amaze me with your spirit and generosity. BOB>>>I liked last week better too. Take care. Bob

Bob.....You are very special.....With all that you must have to deal with on a daily basis, you never had that huge heart of yours hardened or made callous........The world is definitely better off that Bob Yatto is here........As for the bricks, I propose that the class buys a brick in memory of Klaus and in his name. We should all donate as a remembrance. I will donate the first $100 towards his brick and Bob just email me as to where I should send it. I call on all of you who can to join in so we honor two fallen classmates. Or perhaps we can have a brick that lists those in our remembrance list who are no longer with us such as Gloria. I leave that to you, Dr. Bob, to decide.

I never got to know Klaus as a student, but hearing of the lost of a classmate hurts just the same. I also regret that he was unable to attend last weekends event but his name will forever be among those listed under remembrances. It goes to show all of us how important such events can be if not to ourselves but to those who have been a part of our lives. Good-bye Klaus

Last Friday: First day out of TN in 15 mos without caring for Mother-in-law. To see family, friends, mates for Reunion. Great relief from a long seige of same old. This Friday: 7 AM, tell 60+ mother of a 48 yo that the "hemorrhoids" her son was bleeding from is cancer of the colon. 12 noon: tell the family of a 58 yo that his "Gerd" is cancer of the pancreas. 4 PM: read Anita's post re: Klaus. PERFECT! The trifecta. In the vernacular of our expensively educated (???-hopefully-we have the bills to show) kids, "today sucks." Am throwing out this little feeler tonight despite my funk. There are $500 "Cornerstone" bricks for the Jerry Leo Field fund raiser still available. If there is a group interest from our Class Class (no typo here) in donating such a brick, please contact me at nanvet@hotmail.com. $5 or $10 donations from Reunion goers would buy such a donation and ice US as the Great Class we know we were, are, and always will be. God Bless Klaus. We took him fishing near Robbies digs in Greenwood Lake where he identified a pickerel as a "fish of prey." Poor John Forni had to pick thru the bones of that fish at dinner that night. I like last week better. Bob

I just want to publicly thank Anita one last time. This class is fortunate that we have someone like Anita. When other reunions were already well into the planning stages, Nanuet was doing nothing. Anita then decided that this opportunity would not pass us by. We all have such wonderful memories of a weekend we will never be able to duplicate. Can you imagine what a loss to us if we did not get to experience the emotion that was our reunion? I can not get the weekend out of my mind. Each day my thoughts are back to Nanuet. I, like you, will remember this forever. Anita..this was the gift you gave us. We thank you and love you for it!

When I returned to SC I received a very sad email. Klaus Heddagaard passed away last week. I got an email from his girlfriend but she did not give me any details.I have emailed her and when I hear back from her I will share the information with you. I am thankful to have had the chance to talk to Klaus last month, after all these years. He said some things to me that were so "KLAUS" and he shared some memories from high school that he had kept in his heart. It is amazing how being with us for one short year, left such a lasting impression on him. PLANNING THIS REUNION WAS A BLESSING TO ME and I am so very thankful to have had the chance to spend time with all of you and have the memories of the love that was shared. I wish that Klaus would have had the opportunity to be with us one more time. This has really put things in perspective for me. Life is short and unpredictable. None of us are gauranteed tomorrow, and some of us, sadly, will never be together again. Please keep Klaus and his family in your prayers. You will all be in mine. That 60th birthday party is sounding better everyday. With love, Anita

Echo all the superlatives, accolades, cheers and applause bestowed upon the entire Reunion Committee. They are richly deserved. Personal thanks and appreciation for a most spectacular endeavor and magical weekend. You set the stage to reconnect dear friends...and the opportunity to gain new ones...both of which were heartwarming. Absolutely loved our high school years and all that it entailed...because...there was always that feeling...as a class...we were pretty special. We recaptured that essence last weekend...or just maybe...it never left. Personal to Dr. Bob...a.k.a. Classy Man...such a beautiful gesture on your part. Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2...who would have thought we'd all be so excited to turn 60! Love to all...

AWESOME - WONDERFUL - AND LOTS OF FUN! That's what this past weekend was for me. This was a gift we gave not only to ourselves but to everyone else who attended. I really enjoyed talking and reminiscing with so many of the people there. It may have taken me a minute or two to get a few names straight, but time has a way of doing that!!! Reconnecting meant so much to so many people. The time and energy spent by our reunion committee really made this a night to remember. Anita, Joel, Louie and Pam wanted this to be special and it was. They reached out and connected with so many people and the turnout was what made the night sooooooo much fun. I would like to personally thank the decorating committee: Rich, Marie, Lenny and Cathy for all the work they did to make the room so beautiful. They did a great job adding to the beauty of the night. Love ya all!!!

I'm not sure I can add to the wonderful comments about or 40th, but I'll try. Those that chose not to come really cheated themselves out of a truly satisfying and enjoyable experience. I got to call Rizzuto a SOB to his face for flunking me in English and sending me to summer school in Spring Valley, ugh!! We both laughed and I didn't get sent to Jarvis' office. I got to tell Mr. Masterson what an inspiration he was to me and how I appreciated his dedication. I got to tell Coach Achilles how I never regretted not going out for any sports, and to that, he was very grateful. THANK YOU, EVERYBODY.

How do you put into words what happened last week-end. For a brief moment, we were able to put aside all of life's frantic pace, and were kids again. It was a magical moment seeing all of you after 42 years with laughing. hugging and yes, even crying a little. Of course, the magicians were Anita and her team, and just saying thank-you seems inadequate. I deeply regret that I didn't visit (or even speak) with some of you, because the magic of last week-end may never happen again; and after reading Joel's great production, I realize that not visiting with every one of you was my great loss. My wife commented that this group was so much fun to be with and that this was the best high school reunion she had ever attended;and she had NEVER SEEN ANY OF YOU BEFORE. The momery of last week-end will stay with me the rest of my days. DON'T PASS THROUGH TENNESSE WITHOUT SAYING HOWDY AND Y'ALL COME TO SEE US. Dave Roberts 865 777-5400 email: davr@charter.net

am just re surfacing from jet lag and reading all the messages posted since the reunion. What else could I add to what you have already said? Nothing much more original, except to join in and say my personal thanks , thanks to all for the superb organisation, and as you say, the feeling of love, friendship, and simple pleasures of life like being together, joking around and enjoying being alive. It was definitely worth the trip across the Atlantic and I really hope we can pull off a mega mutual 60th birthday party in two years time, I can' t think of a better way to celebrate mine, and with better company than all you great guys and gals! Please do keep in touch !!! Love Donna

Echo's of those expressing the success of the reunion and the hard work put in by both Louie & Anita. Having a chance to work with Denise, Pam, Joel, Marie, Lenny and Cathy was truly rewarding to me. Seeing everyone after so many years continues to bring back those memories of not only our high school days, but of past reunions. The directory will be used to stay in touch with many of you as time goes on if just to say "hello" again. With the talk of having another event two years from now as a reunion/birthdy theme sounds great because as these years begin to gain on us, maybe we should meet every 5 years rather than 10.

Months ago, when the reunion committee first walked into the large room at the Elks Club, there was concern. It was a huge bare room, with large card tables and unimpressive green chairs. The decorating committee chaired by Denise, and featuring Marie, Len, Rich, and Cathy magically transformed this stark emptiness into the classy site we experienced. They set the tone with the ambiance they created. The generosity of Len (and Doris, of course) combined with the imagination and hard work of the entire decorating committee gave us an image that will be forever imbedded in our minds. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I just received a note from Bill Wren that he travels around in a camper and frequents Maine,so here is a spot for anyone to park any time, for those of you who don't have a camper my spare house is in the dixfield/mexico area on rt#2 directly across from ROWE'S DAIRY This is an interresting place with 2 kayaks in each room,I have been thinking ofopening a museum so people can see how the sport has evolved, they are hard to sleep in so bring a pad and bag or you can buy one up the road at Wall/Mart, even in Maine there seems to be a Wall/Mart every 20miles, anyway within a short drive you can be in the mountains of Maine/New Hampshire, fall foliage is great and it won't be long before Sugarloaf and Sunday River open, back to the parking area,Go to franklin memorial hospital on rt # 2 farmington (Wal Mart near by).directly across from hospital is rt # 133.Go exactly 3 miles and you should be at my driveway. White farm house (rite hand side).Go 100 yards and there will be a post for the WILTON/JAY town(rite hand side) line. There is plenty of room to park a semi.pull back far enough so a school bus can turn around. Feel free to roam around.Russ and Cheryl Moody 16 rt 133 Wilton Maine 04294 ,207-645-4165.You never know I might get one person to show up so print this out and put it in your glove compartment.~~~Rusty

What a shock it was to see so many of our classmates in one place. It made me feel like I was 18 again and still in school. I hope everyone had an enjoyable time as my wife and I did. A special thanks to the "Reunion Committee" for a spectacular weekend and we were so sorry we couldn't make it to the breakfast on Sunday, but duty called and I had to work. Maybe at the 50th we can attend all the functions. I also forgot to mention in the questionaire that I played trumpet for the Swing Shift Orchestra for 3 years. They were a 17 piece orchestra that played music from the WWII generation, (Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James etc.). I had a great time with them but again work interferred and I had to leave. Hope all that traveled to the reunion made it back home safely and I can't wait until the next one. Keep in touch-------Gerry Degroat

I am sure the Nanuet Class of 65 Reunion turnout is unprecidented for a 40 year reunion!!! Jerry and I attended all four reunions and this one was by far the best! It was truly a moving experience to see so many rekindled friendships and apparently so many new ones made at the same time. I heard many people say that in high school they really did not know each other but by the end of the weekend you would never imagine that was the case. I also very much enjoyed reconnecting with Vinny, George H., Ed Hoblin and their wives - we plan to get together several times a year and not loose touch again! Anita, Louie, Pam, and Joel you make a great team! I don't think there are enough words to say what a fantastic job you all did with planning and executing a very memorable 40 year reunion. Sue

I had planned to get up in front of the mike on Saturday night, but as I looked around the room, everyone was deep into talking/laughing/dancing, and I didn't want to pull anyone away from that magic zone. So I'll say it now. First, Anita's Senior Superlative of "done the most for NHS" is alive and well. What an incredible job the whole committee did; but it was Anita's incessant sleuthing and gentle nudging that got so many more of us to put our "now" lives on hold and jump into the past for a weekend we will never (as long as our memories last) forget. Thank you, Anita! Second, I have heard many speeches in my life, but there's only one sentence I remember out of all of them, and that was the last sentence of Phyllis' valedictory speech at our graduation 40 years ago, our last official day together. About our years at Nanuet High School, Phyllis said, "Don't say 'thank God it's over'; say 'thank God it was possible'." Thank you, Phyllis

I'm guessing everyone has already headed for the reunion - but just in case someone is reading and in need of a place to stay, I released my room at the Comfort Inn last night. Sue

I was so glad to see Louie will keep the web site going after the reunion - I have a work conflict and will have to miss out on the fun. I can't wait to see the pictures of everyone. I know all will have a great time. Although I have to miss out, special thanks - and congratulations - to the best prom committee ever. And Dr. Bob, go ahead and have our clients sign their retainers. Sue

In reading over some of the "sports" related entries, I notice a lot of orange mentioned. I thought Syracuse was the only "orange" team (my niece goes to Syracuse...of course, the way they've been playing lately, maybe they should change their colors to black & blue!).

Hey cheerleaders....This site is not about me. It is awesome because we have over 6000 hits in less than three months. It is awesome because many classmates are posting and contacting each other. I may have created and managed it, but you are the ones who have made this site what it is. I tried to delete your "cheer" but posted it only after we had discussion about it. Thank you for the sentiment, but I would feel much more comfortable if we confine our comments to the reunion itself and the fun we are about to experience. If anyone should have accolades it has to be Anita. Without the website there would still be a reunion. Without our absolutely incredible directory (wait until you see what Joel and Pam have done!) there would still be a reunion. Without Anita we would not be having a reunion.

Ok, Ok...You win Mark & Cathy et al...I will keep the website going until the end of the year...I hope many of you will send pictures of the reunion to me and I will create some sections dedicated to the 40th reunion....After the 1st of next year, I will continue to keep the website as long as there is some activity....Noone has to worry about the cost or the time necessary to manage it. Your job will be to keep some minimal activity going so that there is a good reason to maintain it. So the ball will be in your court....

I echo Cathy R's comments about how great the web site has been (even though I was a late-comer) and how great a job Louie has done. It would be great if we could find a way to keep the web site going even after the reunion. I realize that would be a lot of work for someone and so probably not practical. But maybe there would be a way to hire someone to maintain the web site at minimal cost and we all contribute. Anyway just a thought. It would nice to have an easy way to keep in touch with everyone. See you all this weekend.

I just want to say how much I will miss this website when it finally closes down. Probably not as much as Rob and Bob Y, but judging from the 6000+ hits I think everyone will be sad to see it go. Let's give a special thanks to our "Webmaster " Louie for doing such a first class job! It really has made the reunion alot more fun. I'm sure we are all looking forward to a fantastic weekend partying with the class of '65. See you all there.

After thought: Weeks ago I posted a Contact message that never got listed re: old time Nanuet Main Street businesses. Included Jake's Butcher Shop, Keyrause Pharmacy, Louis Heydeman's Sport Shop, Johnson's Bros, Bogiannos, Fischer Estate, Nanuet Wine and Liquors, Rieber's General Store, Hutton Johnson, Between the Tracks, and Red Rail among others. Butch and Robbie and Peg can locate all of them. True homegrowners. Remember? BTW, have you seen my car keys? I thought I left them on the kitchen counter.....??? Bob

Hi Rob, Went to the plastic surgeon for some Botox to see if I could show up younger to the reunion. He told me I'd need about 3 gallons @ $4000/ to get out "some" of the wrinkles. Warned me that I'd look like the goalie for the dart team with all those injections. Wanna look good for Anita and Magak, but there are starving Indians in Foxwood who will be better served with my wampum. I look folks in the face and tell them they have cancer of the pancreas or I look up their butt. It's never pretty, so I'm directing finances to the Indians. At the 40th reunion I'm thankful I'm showing up. If I get to the karaoke machine I reserve the right to change that assessment. Hey, wanna see pictures of my grandkids? I don't either! Got any fish pictures? Rob Veltidi, just the best. A great source of yuks for the past few weeks.

I have this growing list of NHS memories (from the days before Post-it notes and gray hair), but if I post them here, they would take up way too much space. The memories can wait a few more days. Warm up your talking, dancing, and laughing muscles boys and girls--we are going to HAVE FUN!

I have met with Joel, Pam, and Anita. Today I will be seeing Denise. I can not believe what the organizing committee is planning and doing. I LOVED the SVSH reunion, but in no way can it compare to the NHS one. These people have taken reunion planning to a new level. I am sure that not only will this be the biggest in NHS Class of '65 history, it will be the BEST. It is time to get excited, my friends. As Rob might say, "SOON BABY, SOON"

So sorry Gaylord will not be there. As part of the great group that was the First Nanuet Championship team from the now defunct RCPSAL, he was first team All County and county discus champ. His post reminds me of another moment from that glorious team. In track and field points were awarded to competitors for finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd during the various meets through the season. A certain number of points were required to earn a varsity letter. Class act Coach Hansen waived the requirement at the spring awards dinner, and Walter Strauss earned his varsity letter in track and field. He got a standing ovation from all, especially those of us on that great team. He also was awarded a championship blazer like all the rest. Just another proud member of the champs.

Gaylord: I wish you would reconsider, and come be part of what will be a extraordinary week-end. Look at the picture in the 1963 yearbook of you and I "kruntching guys". Remember, I was at your house when you won the Irsh Sweepstakes, and we used to watch old movies to see your dad playing various parts. Please be at the reunion. Dave "Rebel" Roberts

I just experienced the first night of the Spring Valley reunion with my classmates of elementary school and junior high. It was one of the best nights of my life. The joy and the warmth felt so good. This is what you people who went through the Nanuet school system will be feeling in a week. I wish the feeling could have kept on going for the rest of my life. I know you are about to experience something wondrous. I can not describe it. I can only feel it and words will not be able to do it justice.........Next week will be very special for all of you. So start counting the hours...the best is yet to come!

Gaylord's commments about Walter said alot about Gaylord. This gentle giant had and still has a heart to match his size. He did not care who was an athlete, popular, pretty, smart, etc. He was warm and friendly to everyone. We all could have learned from him. I am saddened that he will not be there, for I consider him the best of the best. I hope he will reconsider as I just want to shake his hand and tell him thank you for being who he was.

Comments: Hi Guys: Despite heroic efforts by many of my old classmates, my wife M.B. and I will not be attending the reunion. It was nice, however to return from our home in Maine to find so many messages of encouragement from so many of you on our answering machine!...especially the one from Louis. If you see him at the reunion, please tell him how much it meant to me. I hope all of you have a great time at the reunion. Please give my best to all...and one final thought: After all these years, one moment still stands out in my mind as the most memorable. It was the day Walter Strauss got a standing ovation just for finishing the 2-mile run. His father was so proud. God bless all.

Sorry to all you nonsports fans and sports fans alike. My last sports post. The favorite sports in the USA are 1. NFL football 2. College football 3/4 depending on region Ml baseball or NASCAR 5. college basketball. In other words, depending on where you live, Jeff Gordon may be more important than Atlanta Braves baseball. NY Yankees? Classic interest, maybe 4 on the interest chain depending on region. In the South, college football is insane. Folks arrive at the visitors campus on Thursday to tailgate until Sunday. The bigger the rivalry, the bigger the crowd. Note to Rob, not all of these fanatics played football. You've got to live it to know it. Anita's clan is bleeding ugly orange but they're steadfast. We've got that gorgeous Auburn Tiger orange, ready to expand on last year's 13-0 record. The Vols? A Central Park "saffron" orange, how sensitive. It's brutal here. NY? Go Army Team and salvage a 1-10 season with the big win against Navy. Other than that, wait for the yearly Syracuse disapointment. No wonder college football is behind surf fishing in NY. The stripers are hitting in Montauk!

I expect that Yats and Rebel will arrive in Nanuet with cars loaded with Memphis' famous Corky's ribs and that Anita will be bringing some pulled pork from a great hole in the wall b-b-q joint in the Carolina's. I'd volunteer to bring some great sushi but I'm afraid it would not survive the trip. And In-N-Out burgers would have a plane full of people assaulting me for their share, animal style. Food TV has brought us all closer together, mainly by making us bigger!! ; )

Highview Ele. has a pictorial history hanging in the downstairs hallway. If you want to view the past or have new pictures to donate, the principal, Steve Schlenger, would be grateful to receive and display them. The school will be open M-F from 8:00-3:00 all summer. Four new classrooms and gymnasium are currently being added, so it is recommended you call ahead - 845-627-3460. The new construction extends perpendicular out the middle of the back. The photos begin with the first schoolmaster (my great-grandfather, Harrison Fay) and students. Harrison moved from Mass. into white house across from the 'Little Store' on the corner of Church and College Ave. (the only survivor, so far, of Normandy Village), next door to Jimmy Snyder's grandfather's house. Safe trip to all, see you next weekend for Anita's blowout of the decades!

DR. BOB, YOU CAN SAY ANYTHING YOU WANT ABOUT ANY COLLEGE IN THE COUNTRY AND ITS ALL IN GOOD FUN, BUT WHEN YOU MAKE ANY REFRENCE TO THE GREATEST SPORTS DYNASTY IN THE HISTORY OF THE COUNTRY, THE NEW YORK YANKEES, YOU BETTER DO IT WITH REVERENCE. REMEMBER YOU ARE A TRANSPLANTED YANKEE AND YOU MUST HOLD TRUE TO YOUR ROOTS. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY DIDN'T THINK SO MUCH OF THE UNDEFEATED UNTIED AUBURN TIGERS LAST YEAR, THEY DIDN'T EVEN INVITE THEM TO PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. AND FOR SOMEONE WHO WENT TO MANHATTAN COLLEGE(WHICH DOESN'T HAVE FOOTBALL) AND WAS NICKNAMED "FROG" WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GAME?

I forget who, but somewhere on this message board, someone referred to the pizza at Nanuet Restaurant as the best in the county. I would say "best in the world". I have yet to taste pizza anywhere that I thought equalled (let alone surpassed) Nanuet Restaurant. And that holds true for others (e.g. my wife) that I introduced to Nanuet Rest. pizza over the years. But it has probably been 20 years since I tasted it. So week from Friday I will find out if it really is that good, or if it was really the good times we shared at the Restaurant that made the pizza so good. Maybe a combination of both!!

Good news and bad news for the Harley men. For the the Mister, a great stroke of luck. Anita is pleased with her dress, relieving you of the obligatory, "Does this make me look fat," pre-event rolling of eyes nonstatement. For the Master, there is One Tiger Team in the South now, the Auburn Tiger, CoChampions, undefeated untied, and all in the NFL. This year has to be down for Auburn in the impossible SEC, so guess what? GO VOLS. Clemson wants no piece of Vols this year if the Vols team is all out on bail. Clemson and ACC with Miami, BC, V Tech? Oh Boy! Hope for a Music City Bowl with Vandy along the way. Sorry Yankees, you have to move South to understand. Wasn't there a baseball team called the Yankees one time?
